So the young miko that tried to kill Inuyasha and Sesshomaru is the one calling herself the mother of all ningen....interesting. I wonder what she meant when she said “The youkai will suffer for removing the blessings of Amaterasu from my line.” Was she referring to the fact that a half demon fathered a child with a miko or is there a deeper meaning?
So, this will be addressed in detail in chapter 15, but since I dropped the names, I'll tell you the legend.
Sakuya is the wife of Ninigi, grandson of Amaterasu. She met the god on the seashore and they fell in love; Ninigi asked Oho-Yama (Mountain Kami and Sakuya's father) for her hand in marriage. Oho-Yama proposed his older daughter, Iwa-Naga, instead, but Ninigi had his heart set on Sakuya. Oho-Yama reluctantly agreed and Ninigi and Sakuya married. Because Ninigi refused Iwa-Naga, the rock-princess, human lives are said to be short and fleeting, like the sakura blossoms, instead of enduring and long lasting, like stones. The three sacred treasures were the nuptial gifts from Amaterasu. Her three sons were Hoderi, Hosuseri, and Hoori. (thank you wikipedia)
OMG Inuyasha's son???? His mother a miko? Really makes me wonder who his mother. Now my poor little brain is working overtime trying to figure it out and coming up with all kinds of crazy idea's LOL
Yes, mother is a miko and is the one that was supposed to help Kagome fix her little... miko sexual defense on Inuyasha lolol.
