Training is freaking killing me slowly hun. I mean today, instead of running the whole way, I had to walk half of it. Lmao, yeah I figured it was basically the case for everyone. BUT as you mentioned, when I know someone too, they just pop out of the crowd. You can spot them so easily. But if you didn't know them, they totally blend in. Lol, I dont know if anyone has the scare the bear app, but for a while, I thought it was stupid. I was just going to ask about the Tsumago thing if you didn’t mention it. But that’s a great way to use that experience for the story. I kind of worry over what your other options were, though. It could have been a lot worse price-wise…you didn’t happen to take a picture of your grasshopper food, did you? I’ve heard of so many grow-sound but interesting foods. Someone told me recently she ate a friend scorpion and it tasted like shrimp. My expression was of course like O.o

I usually like to give authors my undying love proclamations when they write wonderful stories, though. You were due that a long time ago, so I just feel guilty. And plus, since you reply so quickly and with a lot of enthusiasm and interest, it makes me regretful that I didn’t meet you earlier.

I actually was bored and read some of your conversations with her because I talk to her as well. You guys are like two peas in a pod and your spammage is huge and amusing. And it’s totally not meaningless. It was always very interesting and for some reason makes lots of sense.
I honestly don’t think I’m skilled enough for writing historical fic right now, both in my research and in my writing skills. Historical writing has a sense of style to it that I don’t think I’ll be able tomake my own version of right now. Not until I refine my style overall. And embarrassingly, I’ve actually been writing a long time. Maybe not for this fandom, but others. I even have some unposted stuff that I never had the courage to post from those fandoms and now it’s been so long I doubt I’ll ever post them.

I have a friend that I used to collaborate with a lot on stories that we shared fandoms with. But then we started drifting into different fandoms and we never tapped into old ones so I no longer have that back-up. Being unable to write without her made me feel like I wasn’t really the one writing. I was fleshing it out and adding my own flair to it and there were definitely things in there that were just my ideas, but since I couldn’t write without her, it felt like I wasn’t really a writer at all. Everything I’ve written for this fandom so far she hasn’t helped me with, but I feel like it has less innovation.
I never got into Rurouni Kenshin, although I heard it was good from many sources. And thank you for the vote of confidence. It makes me feel happy even if right now I don’t feel like I can meet it. I’ll work on it. Slowly but surely, I hope.

No problem about the review, by the way! Two whole other chapters? Damn, you write fast. You must have been really inspired. I actually try to do the same thing as you. When I first noticed that I did that, I actually called it viewing the world as a writer because if there was anything interesting that happened or something I liked, I would put it in the corner of my mind and try to remember it for future reference. When I walk alone I think of things. When I fall asleep on the bus ride to school and home I think of things. When I’m lying down at night trying to fall asleep I think of things. But if I don’t write them down completely and immediately, it all gets lost. I also get a lot of ideas from my dreams. I have ridiculous dreams. They’re always like stories with little adventures and love stories and what not. When I can remember them in the morning, I write those down too.

I actually learned Prisoner’s Dilemma in my Econ class in college. Don’t you love how those things just come to you? It matched so much and it made me go “Wow. That is absolutely brilliant. And so Sesshoumaru.”
As for Japanese, I’m learning it right now. I’m nowhere near fluent. The side that is Japanese is much diluted several generations down, so a lot of them can’t speak Japanese. I’m actually learning two languages right now, which is challenging but not impossible if I actually study…like I should be doing during the summer vacation…I’m not all that great right now. I can read better than I speak. Speaking is my worst. My tonation needs a lot of help. Pronunciation is not too bad, I think, but my tone fluctuates and goes all over the place.

I'm sure the research must have taken a lot. Reading your story made me feel like going to my Asian Studies textbook and trying to write my own historical fiction. It was funny too, because I started reading Wisteria around the time I started learning about the Tokugawa period. When I learned about the Warring States time period in class, I almost cracked up out loud.

I tend to write slow because I always want to write and the motivation is there, but the inspiration isn't, which is sad because I really do enjoy writing. I've been trying to start writing consistently now so I can actually attempt to write stories instead of just one-shots. All of which happen to be from challenges. I also get a little discouraged because there are just too many amazing writers in this fandom, yourself included. But I really hope you don't expect too much from my challenge entry...assuming I get it done in a timely manner...

I read in your profile that you're Singaporean Chinese? You look way more Japanese than I do, and I'm actually part Japanese. Oh the shame. If I went to Japan, I don't think I'd fit in at all. There are so many people who live here that are Asian but we're all local-fied. It's easy to see a difference between the Japanese from Japan and the Japanese that are a few generations down and can't he language and don't know as much of the customs and culture.

I've always had a love for the Japanese culture ever since I visited Japan. I absolutely love the language and their fashion over there! I'm sure you've been to Harajuku? There are a few eccentric dressers, but I absolutely love the style.

I went to Tokyo, Tsukiji, Shinjiku, Giza, and a bunch of other places, haha. The name of the city with alot of electronics/anime stuff completely slipped my mind, but you might know what I'm talking about. It was last summer, and already I'm forgetting the names of the cities I visited, haha. I thought I told you about my trip but perhaps that slipped my mind as well! ^^' Oh yes, I know! My favorites were just the little hole in the wall booth-restaurants, where you can get fresh ramen or sushi. Mmmmm! I tried one of those places with the rotating sushi too! That was incredibly fun.

Ooh I know! I love dipping the fishballs in the spicy hot sauce... Mmmm.... SO good! I actually don't like the thousand-year eggs (that is the same thing as the century egg you were talking about, right?). My mom used to make the porridge with it, but I always pulled them out and gave them to her. I think it's definitely an acquired taste, LOL. I guess I never acquired the taste for it, hahaha.
