Reviews for The Pillow Book by MissTeak

Rikayu (Chapter 1) - Thu 01 Jul 2010

I almost didn't see this little story here!  This is what I love about your writing!  You're so versatile!  YOu can do both comedic romance, straight up romance, and tragic romance!

Tana_san (Chapter 1) - Wed 30 Jun 2010

Oh, how tragically sad. It must be awful to be forced into a union with so many other women only to fall in love with someone who is not your spouse or master(in the case of being the concubine). I am so glad that I was able to grow up in a time where I have the freedom of choice and only have to commit myself to one person.

Though this is a dark tale, it's written with such a sense of realism as if it were something that actually happened. I felt so sad that Sesshoumaru had to watch his love lose her life just because they dared to love one another and then for him to take his life because he couldn't live without her knowing she died for their love.  JEN

I will tell you after I finish crying...

Noacat (Chapter 1) - Tue 29 Jun 2010

As always, your work is lyrical and so beautiful that it breaks the heart. The best part of your stories is the authenticity. You really know your stuff and it shows. <3

LadySafire (Chapter 1) - Tue 29 Jun 2010

knifethrower (Chapter 1) - Tue 29 Jun 2010

I DID enjoy this.  Yes, it is sad, but poignant as well.  I always feel I learn something from reading your stories, Miss Teak, especially the ones set in Japan's past.  Sometimes, when I am reading reviews of fanfiction, I find that readers in the U.S. strongly disapprove of suicide, and cannot grasp that, for non-Westerners, the act is not shameful, but is often noble.  Undoubtably, this difference lies in the differences between Christianity, which does not subscribe to the concept of reincarnation, and Buddhism, which does.  I can imagine the two lovers being reunited as a reward for their loyalty to eachother...

Saide (Chapter 1) - Tue 29 Jun 2010

Oooooooh nicely written darling. And excellent use of history. (I have been playing too much Samurai Warriors so I recognize the pattern of events). >D

But I did not except such turn of events here. :333333

Nysrina (Chapter 1) - Tue 29 Jun 2010

Dark, tragic twist? My cup of teh tarik. I enjoyed it. A lot. :D <-(would it be so wrong to put in a grinning emoticon?)

Keep up the excellent work!
