So I received a review the other day on Queen of the Kennel talking about how I had moved the characters into the United States, Texas specifically. Below is the review and my explanation.

"interestin in the beggining, it had me hoocked honestly. up till the part where you mentioned texas. wtf is sesshomaru and naraku doin in texas? i think thats the part where my picked interest stopped. you took this story, that was already out of context, so far out of it that it became somewhat of a let down for me. i love the idea, but sadly i don't find it all that apealing because now they all conveniantly live in the states, where i can only assume you live there too. sometimes keeping a story closer to it's original truth is the best course of action, or have a really damn good reason for getting it out of the context."

I replied: "I admit, I'm a bit of a Texas fanatic. The reason I chose putting them into the United States was because I could see Naraku, power thirsty monger that he is, going somewhere (or at least sending a puppet) to find someone who he thinks could take down Sesshomaru (and by extention, the inu-tachi).

The Sisters In Fate are an organization I created and are actually spread all over the North American Continent. but they "meet" where their "leader" resides. Which, in this case, happens to be what will be Spanish Territory, then the Republic of Texas then the state of Texas.

For beings with Sesshomaru's power or Naraku's stolen strength, a trip across the ocean and half of the continent actually wouldn't take that long. I believe it was DLL2 that posted the marvelous fic where Sesshomaru took Kagome and his pups and fled some dark goddess to California. He used his orb (which isn't manga-cannon, I know) and it only took him about a day. Now, if it was just himself and it was over a lesser distance, I could see him giving chase.

Especially if he had a really good lead on where Naraku might be. Now, I didn't bring the inu-tachi or Rin, Jaken and Ah-Un over because that would be unreasonable. Kagome went to California because she got a full ride there and, after being sent back to the future (which will be explained in later chapters). Ayumi went because she was visiting a pen-pal and fell in love with it. I know that wasn't the original reason listed, but it will be explained in later chapters. There are a lot of students where I go to college that are International Students, basically a foreign exchange. It isn't that far of a leap to explain that if Kagome got a full ride somewhere (which is a miracle in itself to be explained later), she would take it.

Anyway, I appreciate your constructive criticism. :) This story has actually been around much longer, but I took it down a while back and am just now reposting."
