About Me
Okay people, on the 'taiyoukai' vs daiyoukai argument - I looked it up, the prefix tai, since we all know what youkai means, and it does indeed mean fish. Specifically, 'Tai' refers to a type of fish called Pacific Sea Bream, genus pagrus major. The correct terminology for youkai is indeed, DAI, which means 'big'. When a being is called a DAIyoukai, they are simply being called a 'big youkai', which refers to their size - and power - while in true form. So hopefully we will begin to see the usage of 'tai' disappear, since I always flinch when I see Sesshoumaru or his papa being described as 'fish youkai'.
