Kay. Cool.

Well mines going good right now, though I'm certain it's going to get 'interesting' later on when I'm closer to wrapping mine up. Eh, they haven't even been put under the spell yet so I'm not even in the Jomon period.

How's it going Aubrey?

Re:NaNo 2013 10 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 11
Can anyone else see my post from a little while ago? I did post, but it's not on the thread...weird. If it's actually not there and my computer isn't just spazzing out or something, I was only saying that there's room for two more people on the word war widget, and I'll wait a few more hours before I collect it.

Anyway, as for my progress, I've got 623 words and I think I'll probably go over the 1,667 word goal for today. I did decide to go with Blaze for this year, and my cousin helped me re-work the plot - it's gone from a medieval fantasy novel to a dystopic, post-apocalyptic, somewhat science fiction-y novel where dragons and magic exist (my cousin and I have weird Muses, apparently lol).

I'm still in the introduction phase, where I have to somehow have my character explain what's going on without launching into some long, horribly written explanation. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to do it before the end of the day.

Also, Rin-Rin, would you mind putting widgets on your main post? The word war widget could definitely go there, once I get it.

Re:NaNo 2013 10 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 17
First Paragraph: It's there but Dokuga did one of it's strange things and the post is on the first page.

Second Paragraph: I saw that you chose Blaze, I've been stalking NaNo looking at word counts and what not. I'm over the 1,667 word count currently, three hundred words away from 4,000. Glad that you got help with plot!

Third Paragraph: Yeah, explanations from the beginning were kind of a female dog, especially since my wrist still hurts from burning it earlier. Idiot me! I did my best but will probably in editing figure out something better.

Fourth Paragraph: Sure, just let me knew when you get it up.

Ah well how is NaNo treating everyone?

I've made very little progress so far (unless re-writing my summary can be counted as progress) but I'm not going to start worrying about it until later tonight. Lol I'm not as productive as Rin-Rin, with her many-thousands of words on the first day!

Also, Rin-Rin, here's the code for the word war widget:

Code:

<img src="http://nanowrimo.org/widget/WordWar/aubrey-simone,mi-ling-chi,kaoruhana.png"/>

It'll automatically update our word counts when we update them on NaNo's website, so it only needs to be put on the main post.

I hope no one else is having as much trouble writing as I am!

I'm really interested in partaking especially since I have stories I want to finish and I really need to get them done... but I've never participated before, and don't even know the website to sign up on. XD

LADY K! This is easy stuff, and it's still the first so you're not even behind
Just go to www.nanowrimo.org and register, and then all you do is write words, pray to hit 50K, and verify your word count at the end!

I'm lyrainthedark there, if you're looking for writing buddies, and if you look up in this thread I think some other people posted their Wrimo names too.

JOIN THE WORD PARTY!

It calls to you, you know it

Lady K, Lyra is lying to you! This is totally not easy at all, but it is fun when you've got people to hound you into writing, which, you know, you should totally do because 50k words in 30 days is actually possible. (Or at least that's what people say lol).

Come on and join in on the fun!

I did Camp Nano in April and it was sooo worth it. Also, follow any advice Lyra or Stella give you. They're beasts <3

I don't know why I'm doing this other than the fact that I have a story nagging at my mind. I still have a midterm to do before Sunday and a busy weekend ahead. ><

Though I am proud to announce that I am delving into the horror genre for the first time!

THE BIGGEST NANO LESSON: Do. Not. Edit. At all.

I mean, if typos really bug you or something...I suuuuuppoooooose that's fine - but RESIST THE URGE to edit. First drafts suck. No matter what. Unless you're Mozart (we're not Mozart, he's dead.) And ALL the words you write count to your word count - so if you find yourself in the middle of a sentence rewriting the previous paragraph, woo! Don't delete - just go onward!

WORDS! WRITE! WOO! :cheers on all of everyone:

I knoooowwwwwww! And the funny thing is, I don't write sucky first drafts because I can't do it unless I'm doing it deliberately, so the problem isn't that I'm editing - it's that my muse is being completely, 100% uncooperative. For some reason, I can't get past my block. Or at least I can't right now - I'm thinking that if I stay up tonight, I can get some late-night, half-delirious-from-lack-of-sleep writing done.

At any rate, I'm going to try not to stress out just yet - it's still day one and I know that as soon as I get in my groove, the words will come. Hopefully my groove doesn't take too long to show up!

Camp NaNo? I know nothing of this! What is it?

And congrats on branching out - it can be scary to do it, especially for something as serious as an entire novel. Kudos to you for your bravery!

Aubrey: Don't despair. I'm technically ahead today but I can tell I'm probably going to spend the majority of the day not writing. I think I'm going to end up redrawing my country map to perfection and stuff like that.
Good luck to all

Camp Nano happens in April and July. You can set your own word limit, so you can focus on whatever project you want and not just a novel. I randomly decided to do it on April 1st last time and I finished! It was an amazing feeling!

If I do end up doing NaNo this year (still up in the air a bit), I don't know if I'm gonna be successful. Plus this midterm is killing me. I'm only halfway through T_T and I have a new hatred for scholarly references.

You know, I think I'll see if I can write 50,000 words in a month and try to work it around my work schedule. I already have most of my plot and everything thought out. I hope I can write it in time >.<

The more the merrier! Try, have fun, and even if you don't succeed, you have something you've written that you can continue on in the future.

Current thoughts:

If I close my eyes, I see SSX 3, the thing I do when I'm not writing.

Open my eyes, see a word document entitled Reincarnation.

If I switch to my internet browser, The Holy Pearl just wants to consume more of my time.

If I switch to the other word document I have opened, I have a crossover between The Holy Pearl and Inuyasha to write.

Hello. I'm on Nano too. I started but I didn't go for a word count because my work's on two different computers. It's a bit rough because I'm a one shot wonder but this story feels like a monster so I'm just typing. I figure it's better to let it flow.

I will be doing K & S fanfiction because that's what wants to be written. Good luck to all of you.

My name is Soul Candy.

Re:NaNo 2013 10 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 20
Honestly I am surprised at my progress so far. I haven't written yet today but I'll probably do like yesterday and pump out my work count at like ten o'clock tonight. I am a little over 3000 words in and already i've hit smut town lol. It's coming along pretty good though.

My story is about three people: Ayame Minobe, Miyashi Takanji, and Issac Yoshida. All three of them are in an open relationship with each other. The story goes on to where they all join this archeology class due to Ayame's prompting and their want to make her happy. Their teacher, the end up really liking and eventually while on an excavation one day he goes missing. So she takes it upon herself to go to that same excavation and look for him. The three of them touch a specific artifact and get transported into some foreign country in the past. Much different from Tokyo where they started.

While there she finds out that she has developed powers to control air and later on lightening. Takanji has quick reflexes and acts like a body guard to her. And Issac, well his father was an army ranger and he's had plenty of survival training, all is enhanced when they are in the realm. Think of Sesshomaru but he actually talks and expresses feelings. They end up having to petition a mysterious lord to use his forest, where there is said to be an artifact similar to the one that took them there. So she makes a deal that when they get back she can belong to the lord. They of course assume they will be instantly transported back to the future.

Well Different things get revealed and they find out the Queen of the land that just died, who was a powerful magic user, is inhabiting Ayame's body, causing the powers that she possesses and that it was her who pulled them into the past. Well things don't go as planned and they return, Ayame having to belong to this lord now. Who actually is in all reality, their professor from before.

Missy, if you ever publish that tell me, I want to read it like crazy. Just everything that I love all in one story, count me in.

Cherry, I added you as a friend on NaNo just for the record. Secondly, so I'm not the only one writing SessKag fanfiction? Yahoo!!!

Re:NaNo 2013 10 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 17
So sorry for double posting but I just wanted to add something that really didn't relate to the previous post but is kind of important to my NaNo.

I'm stuck.

The portion I'm writing, the second incarnations they're living through. This portion is a crossover with the Holy Peal (which I don't own and look at my signature for my opinion on the show(also the show is the Chinese Drama version of Inuyasha with maybe enough changed to not infringe copyright)) but that's not exactly knowledge yet it is.

How I'm stuck is I'm very conflicted. I love the show to death right now and the pairings are sacred to me. Wu Dao is Sesshomaru, for a fact. However, who Kagome is still kind of undecided. Ding Yao, Kagome technically, is not someone I want to see with Wu Dao but the technically be right, however I don't have any clue on how to do that. Or there's Yu Die (which I love this pairing to death but you know). >.> Yu Die is Wu Dao's canon interest and I'm leaning towards her. However, like Ding Yao is technically Kagome, Yu Die is also someone else who's not Kagura.

It may not make much sense but I'm really stuck here. Maybe a couple encouragements in one way or the other would help me decide. Of course despite the fact Yu Die is another Inuyasha character in general, it would be SessKag because Kagome inhabits her body.
