Shopping is such an amazing activity; I can never get enough of it, but sadly, my bank account doesn't share the same sentiments. 105 yen an amazing deal...I bought too many books and now I am having a hard time trying to finish reading them! But I am not complaining I am glad to find a fellow shoujo manga fan! Do you know the artist Enjouji Maki by any chance? I am a fan of hers; I have all her works and somehow, I cannot get enough of her drawing and plots. Speaking of those magazines, gosh, I am such a sucker for their freebies! I can buy a magazine because of the freebies LOL! So you can guess how much money I spend unnecessarily. Do you read Japanese magazines by any chance?

LOL I totally agree with you - I read shoujo manga with kinky contents all the time! and...I am embarrassed to admit this, but I read BL (boys' love) as well. But oh well, if people can draw it, it is only justified that I read it. LOL.

Shibuya's amazing!! I bought clothes, accessories, shoes...gosh, the list is interminable! And I actually found a second hand book shop where I could get manga at 105yen! They cost 400yen if you buy them first hand, so I kinda went crazy buying shoujo manga and came back with a whopping 24 books. LOL now that you've mentioned it, you do seem to like little holes in walls!! But those places are where you can get the good designs.

That man whom you saw on the plane is just...EEEEEW. Like, gross, totally. I mean, I don't judge people for reading what they like, but if you scour through it hunting for kinky scenes in public (ON A PLANE!!!?), it's just disturbing. I wonder what he was thinking when he looked at those pretty air stewardesses. *shudders*

If you ever hear me speak Cantonese, you'd be HIGHLY amused. The accent's all wrong, and I have to pause and search my brain for the right words. I bet you are wayyy better! I wonder if watching Hong Kong dramas help?

Thank you! The food was amazing; I had it at a ryokan in Tsumago, Nagano prefecture. Not every dish was good though, but because I am carbivorous (LOL!) I ate 3 bowls of rice. And Japanese rice is really, really good. Speaking of ryokan, I started a new story! It's titled Happily Ever After, and I've posted two chapters here on Dokuga. I'd be really honored if you could check it out!

Shibuya definitely does ring a bell, but it's more of the mainstream fashion area in Tokyo. On the other hand, Harajuku would also be considered a 'fashionable' area, just that the fashion there is not quite mainstream. Harajuku's amazing; I always eat the crepes there. LOL. But I am definitely more of a Shibuya person when it comes to shopping! If you're referring to electronics and anime, it is definitely Akihabara. LOL my experience with the anime boobies is the perfect thing to share with friends! I swear, I've never seen so many pairs of boobies in my entire life. It's amazing how there is no stigma for reading such material. There were men in suits, holding briefcases while openly reading stories with lots of boobies but no one seems to be judging them. And they definitely did not seem to be afraid of being judged either.

YAY for gluttony!! I am in a perpetual dilemma over dieting and eating though. Yes yes we should sign up for Fear Factor or something and dominate! They should make us eat "strange things" like century egg, chicken legs and whatnot, and we will be rich!! (I get hyper over any potential money-making means because I am perpetually broke. And I still owe the Bank of Dad and Mom money for my tertiary education) I've never had ox tongue!! It definitely sounds a little icky but I might give it a shot if there's a chance!

Cantonese is such a beautiful dialect; I don't know if I've mentioned this before but I am a failed specimen of a person of Cantonese descent. LOL. I can speak very basic Cantonese, and that's not even enough for me to survive in HongKong with. I am sure you're better at Cantonese than I am!

Ahh that's Akihabara! The place with loads of anime stuff. I dropped by Akihabara when I was in Tokyo and accidentally wandered into the men's section and was greeted by a wall of anime boobies. LOL. So my friend and I hurriedly began talking in English so as to make it obvious that we were silly tourists who went into the wrong place!

Ooooh I love those amazing hole in the wall booth-restaurants as well! They are like little gems waiting to be discovered, and it's always nice when you discover a shop that serves good food! The conveyor belt sushi has got to be my favorite

The curry fishballs are good too! Oh gosh, everything is so good to me because I obviously love to eat! And yes, you got it right, it's that blackish egg thingy. It's really an acquired taste, but it works for me! I can eat it the way it is with ginger slices LOL. Porridge remains the best way to eat it though! Do you know there was an episode of Fear Factor whereby they made the contestants eat the century eggs for the gross food segment? I was kinda shocked because I think I'd have appreciated it and asked for more LOL.

I am sure you can brush up on your Mandarin someday! It's not too hard, especially if you are in a Mandarin-speaking area! If you do have any questions, I'll definitely help you with them.

LOL. It's really not that impressive I speak both English and Mandarin (I don't really know which is my first language) equally since I was a kid, and I picked up Japanese by taking classes when I was thirteen. So it's been 10 years of Japanese for me, and I tried picking up French in university. Did it for two years, but I could never converse properly in it. I can read and understand though, and hold basic conversation. As for Japanese, it's really more of watching TV programs/anime/drama, listening to songs, interacting with native speakers and that's about it! I am sure you can do it if you wanted to

Awwww you flatter me!! But it makes me happy nonetheless. LOL. And oooh you've been to Japan before! Which part of Japan did you visit? I am always amazed by the fact that what is served to your table looks exactly the same as what you've ordered from the display windows at the restaurants! You make me crave sushi now!

Speaking of Hong Kong, yes, I know what you're referring to! The fishball noodle soup is amazing, and I highly recommend their wonton noodles and century egg porridge if you haven't already tried them. Asia's such an amazing place

Anyway, yes, please try to make a trip to Japan! Your dad's definitely being truthful when he says how good the food is. And you're the lucky one to have a sushi chef for a friend!! That's amazing! Did you get to try the sushi he makes? I bet that'd be good! Your chance to visit Japan will definitely come, and when you do go there, please let me know so I can give you a list of nice places to visit! LOL. I bet Texas-Chinatown is fun too! HongKong happens to be one of my favorite places to visit. The dim sum is...WOAH.

Speaking of my impending trip, yes, I will be in Tokyo from the 11th till 19th June for a final interview with UNIQLO. They're holding a global hiring campaign for their graduate management program, and I casually applied for it two months ago. AND VOILA! Somehow I made it through the first two stages to reach the final one, and this is the one which will determine if I get the job. I will be interviewed by the senior management in Tokyo and also, participate in a one-day internship at one of the stores. If I get the job, well, I will be stationed in Japan for the next two years.

Hi dear! Japan was amazing as always, and I think I overdosed on good food!! If you see my pictures you'll know I mean! Everything was so good (even the plain white rice) so I became carbivorous and ate all the carbs which I usually would forgo! But it was all worth it do visit Japan if you can! You'll have so much fun!
