Gestural Drawing 6 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 57
I've been wanting to get better at drawing poses and people for proportion control. I found this and have been trying to train my brain to 'draw' the gesture or motion/emotion of a pose in its simplest form.

I won't direct link to websites and stuff because much of the poses drawn from, are nude models. I will provide the name 'Proko' which can be googled on youtube and as a website. His videos are really helpful for gestural drawing as an introduction, even if he makes things look difficult because he's a pro.

His video lessons are amazing.

I still haven't quite got my head around gestural drawing, but if you're looking for quick timed images of models to draw poses from. The site Quickposes is great for that.

Note that gestural drawing is one of many techniques to get a figure down.

I just wanted to try this as a quicker way to get proportion and flow going and to help me understand the human form better.

It works.
