Is it For the Best by Oroyukae? I haven't read it in a very long time so I'm foggy on all the details except that Kagome takes Rin with her to the future.

Kagome it's taking care of Rin in modern times after having to leave the past at Sesshomaru's request. After waiting Kagome moves on wt her life &dates a guy. Kagome ends up meeting Sesshomau however he is in disguise &doesn't tell her who he is. We'll the guy kagome has been seeing turned out to be a pedophile I think. &the only way found out was because Sesshomaru smelled the guys business in Rin's room. &Kagome finds out he's Sesshomaru &they go to court &that's all I remember.
