I'm looking for a fic where Sessh is a guard dog at the shrine. He has an ongoing battle with a squirrel. At the end of the fic, we find out he is still the Lord of the West, and he and Kagome end up kissing at this dance, ball, or party thing. I can remember a little more, but I don't want to give it all away in case someone who hasn't read it wants to give it a try.

It's not Velvet Sometimes "Help Wanted", although that one is in my favorites! I thought that this fic was there, too, but I can't find it.
