I remember a lot about this fic, just not the title or author! It is not an old, old fic. Rin is killed by someone close to Sesshomaru. He knows his father kept a jewel or crystal that could hold a disembodied soul, so he finds it and captures Rin's soul before it can escape. He plans to put the soul in a new born body, which must be at least half human, but he doesn't want her to just die again in a few years, so he goes to Kagome and asks that she allow him to father a child on her to hold Rin's soul. Kagome, who has been feeling bad about not having a child of her own, agrees, and they "do it". Sesshomaru returns to his court to find Rin's murderer, but from time to time comes to bring things to Kagome to make her pregancy easier, and they begin to grow closer...
