I believe this was an au, but Naraku traps Kagome and Sesshomaru in voids that completely closes them off from everything and everyone. Naraku and another villian decide that they need to dispose of them and because of the opposite nature thought that they would attack each other and destroy themselves. But it back fires, Sesshoumaru sees Kagome as someone to protect and provide for and Kagome thinks that Sesshoumaru is someone to finally get rid of the loneliness, they mate and then escape. He takes her to one of his lairs and returns to destroy Naraku.
