So mid-series canon, I believe. The inu tachi are still traveling. Kagome and Sesshoumaru are having a fling that I think is a mutual agreement, but Kagome starts to realize she has feelings for him. Around about the same time, Sesshoumaru realizes he feels for her as well. He takes her as a mate, and she starts changing into an Inu youkai.
One thing I remember in particular is a scene where Kouga barges in, takes her hands while she's asleep and she attacks both him and and Inuyasha because she perceives them as a threat. And at the very end of the fic, she's fully transform, as a black and white dog, and pounces on Inuyasha for the lulz. Definitely MA and not for the kiddos, nor the faint of heart.
