The story I'm looking for is part of a group of non-linear one-shots and I can't remember the name. The first chapter has both Kagome and Sango becoming immortal -- Kagome for to protect the jewel, and Sango who loses miroku in the final battle. They both decide to travel, as Sango has no one left and Kagome --who loves Sesshoumaru and can't deal with the fact that he married Rin.
