Actually when it comes to ellipsis, it is three dots but there can be four if its used to trail off at the end of a sentence. And there can be punctuation outside of brackets and yes even quotation marks it all depends on how its used in the sentence. English is complicated. I think we need to make up a less complicated language!

I know we're talking about spelling, but I absolutely loathe when "i see letters not capitalized. especially the beginning of sentences." And speaking of which, it's capitalized, not capitolized - we didn't make the word into a National building.
Don't mind me, I'm a grammar nazi.

Choking is to block the respiratory system, chock is a block or wedge used to keep something- like a wheel- from moving.

Chocking! I've come across that one too! A secretary at this Department of Public Works where I used to work once called a winch a wench in front of a bunch of the guys. She said something about a wench mounted on the front of a truck! The guys gave her a hard time about that!
