Mona (Chapter 41) - Sun 08 Mar 2015

Loved the latest chapter of Deep End of the Ocean and can't wait to read more of it soon. Keep'em coming

InuKami-Sama (Chapter 41) - Sat 07 Mar 2015

Oh no! What's gonna happen!???

cassandra (Chapter 41) - Sat 07 Mar 2015
Oh no. My heart actually dropped down to my stomach when I read this chapter. I kinda had a feeling something like this was going to happen. I wonder if things will ever be the same with them again after this?

Kyo (Chapter 41) - Sat 07 Mar 2015

These last chapters basically enraged me. Honestly, can they never have a break from all that angst? I love them both but your story makes me hate them and their indecisiveness and I don't know if I can take it. If the ending concludes their separation then I'm removing this from my favorites. Like the story but please just let them give up their stubborness. It's so frustrating!

Bibi (Chapter 1) - Sat 07 Mar 2015

Been reading this all day. Such a tragic tale and you weave it beautifully.

Please update soon! I cant wait to read more :3

LoveAndFaith (Chapter 40) - Sat 07 Mar 2015

Liking it, keep it coming.

stoictimer (Chapter 40) - Sat 07 Mar 2015

Love it!

Tana_san (Chapter 40) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

I really wish I had something good to say but, alas, I can't think of anything. The only thing I see is this relationship is a sad story that makes more sense to just stay separate permanently.

Obviously Kagome has had some emotional issues when this started and just when I thought she was growing up enough to be with a being like Sesshoumaru, she changes again to being a bitter woman who can't get past the "poor Kagome" stage. Her biggest mistake was thinking she knew that leaving Sesshoumaru after he made her miscarry the child was the right thing to do. She was just running away once again from the life she had created with him thinking it was for the best and she would be able to get over all her issues. Running away is never the answer.

Don't get me wrong, I understand how Kagome felt and why she thought leaving would help but the longer you run the harder it will be to confront and conquer your issues. She knew what and who Sesshoumaru was and I realize I am repeating myself, but she wanted him to love her and when he does she leaves. She should have stayed and worked through her issues with the way he took her child from her. She was sooo wrong to call him a monster when she herself didn't even have feelings toward the child she carried. She wanted to kill it but couldn't. Kagome is being hypocritical. I find it difficult to think that 4 months pass and she hadn't really even begun to work toward making the relationship work. She spent most of that time doing what? Having a pity party. Then she leaves and doesn't say goodbye or anything, not even a letter.

He is youkai and therefore driven by his baser animal instincts. He wasn't raised with humans like InuYasha, he rarely dealt with humans and for the most part, he didn't like humans but she changed him. Kagome taught him to love. (though it was Rin that softened his heart) Now Sesshoumaru is questioning who he is now. Not fully understanding what it is that makes him feel and think the way he does. He wants to go beg her to come back but can't because that is not who he is. He is youkai. He has given in to her whims for along time now and has tried to understand her way of thinking but he can't make her change her feelings if she doesn't want to even try. I agree with him. A year is extremely generous to wait for her to come to terms with her troubles and really, it was longer than that.

I don't see how there can be any reconcilition now. How can anyone run and constantly question why and what happened when the answers are with the very person you left. Sesshoumaru chased after her once and she only accused and angered him until he couldn't hold control anymore and he forced her to miscarry. She honestly needs to swallow her pride, fear, and anger and go home if she truly wants him. She needs to cool her jets when they talk and listen to him like they did that time when they spent so much time alone and in bed before Ko kidnapped her. (which was her own fault for not staying put when Sessh told her, even if she was only trying to help and prove her worth)

Maybe then, if Sessh is still willing and open to having her back, maybe it might work but Moonlight, my friend, I don't see this having a happy ending and maybe it shouldn't. It's not always wrong to not have a happy ending. They didn't fully mate, though Sesshoumaru calls her mate and feels like she is his mate, so he can move on and she can stay bitter until her time period comes and she can grow old and die if she doesn't die before then. It would be asking alot of a youkai of Sesshoumaru's caliber to forgive her words and take her back.

That's it, sorry I rambled so long but if I just don't think I'm the only one to feel this way. Doing a wonderful job with this though. I finally find myself wishing for them to stay apart.

Hugs and kisses,  JEN

Sess Koibito (Chapter 40) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

What an awful situation. My hope is that Sesshoumaru just finds a way to move on. He doesn't deserve to keep being punished by Kagome. If she can't or won't go back then he needs to find someone else to love that will love him in return. And if Kagome finally decides that she wants to be with Sesshoumaru, I hope that he has already come to terms with their relationship being finished ... and says no.  :(

Marie (Chapter 40) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

Pride is but before a fall.  Who will go first, so much regret.  There is no fix get this.  Sesshomaru   will cheat on kagome and he will have a child.  At what point does it all become sensless. Some of the best Anime I've watch h a even heart renin ending.  I will prepair  for the worst.  Maybe I'm very wrong.  Maybe!?

angel (Chapter 1) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

Yo k all the sesshomaru fans might not like what I have to say but in my opinion it  is sesshomaru fault that this happen because in chapter 26 when ko forced kagome  sesshomaru felt her emotions though the bond they shared why not go help her before all  that  happened he could have stopped but he walk away because he thought she was feeling good? That s just  a bodily response and no love. To me this kind a remind me when inuyasha and kikyo was so easily trick by naraku they didn't trust each orther to believe in there love and die hating each other.  Now kagome and sesshomaru are suffering because he didn’t trust kagome enough to save from her from such a painful act

DivaG (Chapter 40) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

Well, at this point I don't see a future for them both. Kagome decided to leave Sesshoumaru to come to terms with the entire situation but, instead of this time heal her wounds, it only served to create new ones. Working at an orphanage showed her what her life would be if she had the child, but even so she could not forgive Sesshoumaru for something she knows is instinctual for him, and that deep down she herself thought it was for the better. She really does not feel that sorry for the loss of the child, she just wanted this loss to be less brutal, although the end result would be the same. That elderly woman was right, she was not prepared to love an "animal", because it is essentially what he is. She wanted to have the child and expected him to accept and love the child as his own only to be at peace with her own mind. She wanted all, the child and his unconditional love, instead of facing the consequences of her choices, regardless of his feelings. He is not human and she has yet to learn and accept this. As for Sesshoumaru, he is a prideful creature and will not outright go after her, after all she left him without a word and he does not see any wrongs with his actions towards her, and he really waited a long time for her return. They will meet again only by chance, and I just hope it's not too late. Great story.

Pricila (Chapter 40) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

I have to agree with the last reviewer, Ldsan.  At this point I'm no longer rooting for them to get back together.  If anything I'm rooting for Sessh to find another, a female who will love him and he her - For it to be deep, pure and beautiful.  Sessh deserves it, he gave her everything he had and more and she did nothing but belittle and call him horrible things; to add to it she has been gone for over a year.  She's obviously doesn't know what a great thing she had and deserves to loose him.    Priss

Ldsan (Chapter 40) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

I have been checking the site daily for an update and was glad to see one today.

I generally skip stories with no happy endings (especially if it concerns my favorite couple) but your characterization of Sesshomaru has kept me glued. I don’t think I will get my “happy ending” but regardless, I will read your story until the end. To be frank, I am no longer rooting for a romantic reconciliation between the two. I just find Kagome’s character too selfish and frustrating.

I could be wrong, though. A “happy ending” may still possible. I am not sure how the relationship between Sesshomaru and Kagome can be salvaged but with your talent anything is possible.

Thank you for sharing your story.

Alashia (Chapter 40) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

Poor Sesshoumaru and Kagome. . . I hope kagome goes back soon back before he decided to become cold again.

Saraf Anjum (Chapter 40) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

Really love your story, writing style & overall presentation.

Your understanding of human heart is splendid. No matter how hard we try, we cannot fully come to know Sesshomaru's thoughts & emotions as we are not youkai but human. So I don't know if the many sacrifices (of his youkai heritage) Sesshomaru have done for Kagome's sake out of love would truly be done by a real (lovelorn) youkai.

But I really liked your portrayal of Kagome. No matter how good a person we are, humans always have and always will have less appreciation (and understanding) for feelings of other species. So I can't fully blame Kagome for her behaviour. The woman who always yearned for a child brutally lost the life in her womb no matter how it came to be. She has a reason to be bitter. To most advanced countries it may seem strange but in many conservative countries women are more mellow n come to love her child even if it's born out of rape or torture. I've seen women who've been raped by enemy soldiers n gave birth to their child n took good care of them. So it cannot be said for sure that Kagome would lead a miserable life n hate her child. Also the story is of the past n even though Kagome is from the present, she has lived in that era for a long time. She's bound to change. And her last thoughts were SO right. It really becomes hard to confront a situation (you've been avoiding) after a certain amount of time and later you come to regret it (I know I do).

Thank you for the wonderful story dear :)

cassandra (Chapter 40) - Fri 06 Mar 2015

Wow. I didn't expect  her to stay away that long. I kinda feel sorry for Sesshomaru. I hope they both come to their senses soon!

annalou mapano (Chapter 1) - Thu 05 Mar 2015

what a selfish  brat

snowbird (Chapter 39) - Wed 25 Feb 2015

I have to agree with Tana_san and Valdiva Martins etc.  There have been several times throughout this story, I've been very disappointed with her actions.  He has had a lot of patience with her.  I don't believe in abortion unless the fetus is a threat to the females body or in the case of incest or rape.  I think her desperation of always wanting a child overcame the fact that she really would not love this child thereby them growing to resent each other.  She's not thinking rationally, only emotionally.  Why does she think going away is going to help?  His patience is eventually going to run out so she needs to get her shit together.

DivaG (Chapter 39) - Sat 21 Feb 2015

Kagome is really being very selfish and inmature right now. She does not want to hear anyone or anything, she wants only to be focused on herself, her so-called suffering for the loss of a child that she never wanted or loved in the first place and would never be able to rise with the care and dedication that any child needs, and to justify her inadequacies she needs someone to blame for her "misfortune". She acted just like a person who has a pet with an incurable disease and didn't dare to sacrifice it herself to end its suffering, so she sought someone else to do it for her only to put the blame of the pet's death on that person. This was pretty cowardly of her. Maybe this time apart will do some good to her, but to restore her relationship with Sesshoumaru again will not be an easy task, because she said and did things to him that she never should, choosing to forget that he is a full youkai and not Inuyasha, and did not even say goodbye when she left. It would not be surprising if, in case she comes back, he was already with someone else.
