Gah, to call Sesshoumaru a predator is an understatement. The dragon metaphor is perfect - he's downright diabolical! (And I love it, hehe! :)) The buildup of tension and dread was flawlessly executed, Stella! Every word Sesshoumaru said was like the slash of a knife.

Can't image how Kagome's meeting/conversation with Akiko will go, nor her inevitable confrontation with Sesshoumaru over all this. OMG, the suspense is killing me!! D: Thank god you're like the fastest updater EVAR! <3

Kouga's such a shameless flirt! :D I'm still grinning at his cocky behavior. Yet he genuinely seems interested in Kagome and altogether not such a bad guy (any man who encourages a woman to speak for herself wins points with me!). This is probably blasphemous to say here on Dokuga, but maybe she'll end up with him, somehow...if she can survive this insanity with Sess. @_@ ...Eh, just a wild thought!

Loved the crackling intensity in Kouga and Sesshoumaru's 'showdown'. I'm very much enjoying how you've translated their demonic characters to this modern setting. Considering the ruthlessness of the business world, it makes perfect sense.

Hmm, I have to wonder at this Kimura person's strange reaction to Kagome...what does he know that she doesn't? Maybe I'll find out next chapter - onwards, then! :) :)

When she got that tattoo I thought maybe the fight in her might start coming out, but now I'm not so sure.

I'm starting to think Machiavellian was an understatement, he had her picked out before he ever stepped foot in that restaurant, yes? I still have no clue where he's going with this though, there's something more there than just business, but I don't even have a theory. Usually, I have a dozen a this point.

Incentive? Sounds like he's bringing her close to entertain clients whenever he wants.

Did Sesshoumaru engineer the attack? Leave the files for Inuyasha to find?

I should stop reading this story right now, but I know I'm not going to be able to. It has everything I love with the angst and the Machiavellian villian and the hinting at all these hidden plot threads. But Sesshoumaru is so vile and Kagome so weak I don't think I can stand it. This is going to be one of those stories that worms itself into my brain and I won't be able to stop thinking about it, and it's going to make me crazy. If there's one weakness in the story so far, it's that Sesshoumaru lacks a foil. He HAS to have a foil, this story is too smart to leave that out. Maybe that's coming? Please tell me it's coming and Kagome starts fighting back at some point...

hmmm...i wonder what Inuyasha thought of Akiko... after all she must look quite like Kikyo and Kagome... (too bad that all these girls are after Sess and not Yasha. And, Sess does not seem like the type to share. How about if Sess hooks up Yasha with Akiko: all the better for the company and the well-being of Yasha's mental state) *grins*

Wow. Just when I feel like I know what's going to happen, you drop another piece to this endless puzzle in front of my face. Really wonderful chapters. I love how you stick to metaphors in your writing- alluding to Koga being a wolf, and Sesshoumaru the powerful dragon who devours all; really wonderful :) surprisingly gives me more of an idea of how they would be seen in the real world, and not just in canon.

Kimura Akiko...I wonder if she is a bigger part to this mystery as well.

I'm curious too genuinely why is she there why did he hire her.... I'm gonna die bcoz of d suspense ... d questions r eating me inside out its a good thing you update daily otherwise I would have died long ago

I like this streak of boldness in Kagome. Maybe she'll turn the tables a bit on ol' Sess? Gah, I sure hope she sticks to her guns and doesn't let him manipulate her into...erm, seducing the board members or whatever dark plans he has brewing in that dragon mind of his! D:

That last sentence gave me chills. The buildup of tension toward the end of this chapter was incredible, and the fairytale analogy was perfectly twisted -  Kagome in the lair of the beast, not hoping or even really wanting to be saved.

Enjoyed the interaction between her and Kaede as well. I'm terribly fond of Kaede, and I like how she was stern toward Kagome while still being fair. And not a strand of hair out of place! - love the little details you use to flesh out your characters. :)

so... How did kagome have time to get a tattoo when she doesn't have time to sleep? ;)

Well, i hope she doesn't disappoint Sesshoumaru because he just talked to her about her being professional and not letting him down on his expectations...(and, look what she does, she gets herself a professional tattoo!) lol

So, how big is this tattoo?? is it like the Yakuza's... the whole back?? And I wonder why she got that... and (soon or later) what Sess will think of it.

I am sure we will meet Naraku again... and it's not the end of him.... so so many questions unasnwered.

bottom line, Kagome is too good for Sess (or Naraku) and she needs to know her worth and start acting like it.

Also, lucky her... even though she was practically "bought" by Sess to be his secretary, she has all her loans paid off and she gets to work at a professional job AND she will get paid (probably good salary)! She really shouldn't be complaining... I wouldn't mind being in her spot... omg, MY school loannnnnssss....* grumbles*
