Just a general question...

What kind of music helps inspire you or motivate you, or do you like to play with you are doing your art?

I'm looking to make some new playlists, so if you can recommend me some stuff, that would be just awesome!

I really like video game music, because it ranges from peppy to dark to mysterious! My favorites are the Super Mario Galaxy OST for general epic, Final Fantasy themes for wistful/mysterious, Loco Roco for happy, and Pokemon or Kirby just for general feel-good!

also disney music, the Aria OST, and the Mushishi OST are personal favorites of non-gaming music. >3>

I put my iTunes on shuffle and just let it go. I find that it keeps me from getting tired of listening to the same songs over and over again. But if I really need to focus, I usually go for techno or house music; something with a good beat and limited singing.

For my last picture I listened to DBZ Soundtrack, which was fun, because I was painting Bulma and Vegeta. Therefore I will try this method for my next IY-pic as well.
I can't use shuffle on my playlist, because it varies too much. Hence, I pick a specific album or interpret. Things are more "smooth" this way....

See mine has a crazy amount of variety in it too, but I kind of like that. If I come to a song that's too distracting or that I don't want to listen to, I just hit the skip button on my keyboard. ^^

For me, it depends on the theme of my work. Otherwise it's itunes shuffle.
