I'm looking for a fic where Kagome and Sesshoumaru get bound together by magic, which I think was represented by a thread/string, and they can't go past a certain distance from each other. Over time the bond keeps getting shorter as the thread is cut.

That's really all I remember. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Is it chapter 8 of Trapped by sesshou_lover?

The chapter title is Strands Of Honor and it's a one-shot. It's really good along with the rest of the collection.

That looks like another good one, but still doesn't seem right. If I remember correctly the bond wasn't a visible thing.

Hmm . . . the only other one I can remember reading that involves them being bonded together like that is With You (rated MA) by The Bard, but it is probably not the one you are looking for. The chain is visible in this one. Also, the story is still being written, and it is only in recent chapters that they were bound together.

Are there maybe any other details you can remember about the story?

I found it!!! At least I think I did... Naraku is the one cutting the string, right? If so, check this out:

Inexcusable Nature by JustAnotherGirl on A Single Spark and it would be rated, most likely, an M for all the violence on this site. Eh, I haven't read it in a while... maybe a T.

Anyway, there's a sequel, but that is definitely an MA on this site!
