I made a mistake by giving you the link to the third chapter but I think that's it, she's an intern archeologist in the story, hope that helps.

sounds like it might be 'A Gift From the Past' by KogasAngel. I think that she started reposting it on AFF, but it hasn't been updated in a long time.

i think that i read it on FF.net but i cant seem to find it now.

I think it starts with kagome finding a sword in a cave and then Sesshoumaru and InuYasha's father give her his power......

Thats all that i can remember, so if anyone knows a story that sounds kind of like that i would really appreciate it!!!
