I was watching the movie, "Love Affair" (1939) and it reminded of a story I once read. Kagome and Sesshomaru meet on a cruise but because he was engaged to Kagura they decide to meet in 6 months in front of the Empire State Building. However, Kagome has an accident and Sesshomaru thinks Kagome didn't want to be with him. He had broken his engagement with Kagura which resulted in him losing his company, so he pursues his dream of becoming a painter. He paints a picture of Kagome and eventually she sees the picture (of herself) in a gallery and asks to buy it from the gallery owner. However, Sesshomaru had told the gallery owner if anybody asked about the painting to just give it away. (The gallery owner told Sesshomaru the sad story of the person (Kagome) who took the picture and Sesshomaru didn't pay much attention). Kagome then takes the picture home. Eventually Sesshomaru finds Kagome's name in the telephone book and decides to visit her. When he's looking around he finds his painting there and realizes she had been the person with the sad story. In the end they end up together. I might have forgotten some details but I believe that is the gist of the story. Hopefully someone can help me. Thank you in advance.
