I was doing research for a speech, when I noticed an article on the CBS news site. Yesterday, November 28th, 2010...Leslie Nielsen passed away. The actor was in the hospital for pneumonia. He has played in many movies, shows, etc. We will miss you, Mr. Nielsen. I will always enjoy your Naked Gun movies.

There was always something about Leslie Nielsen's performances that made me stop and smile or laugh. The camera loved him for more than good looks, which are ephemeral. He could make me laugh with the lamest jokes and pratfalls. Earlier in his career, he played the romantic lead in several movies, including playing opposite Debbie Reynolds in one of her "Tammy" movies. He was very dignified and handsome in these early, serious roles. How terribly funny he could be came as a delightful surprise! He will be missed.

LOVED him in the Tammy movies. A very diverse and talented man. He will be missed.

My dad was a huge Leslie Nielsen fan, from his starting role in 'Forbidden Planet' up until sillier, but equally memorable things like 'Police Squad' and & 'Dracula, Dead and Loving It' so right along with the black and white horror classics, I was raised on Leslie Nielsen gag lines. Probably explains my warped sense of humor >_>. Feels like one of my uncles passed . My dad was very somber today and he's not the somber-type.
