It seems we have a higher population of Floridians here in Dokuga then what I thought. Depending on what people chime in here, I might start working on organizing a Dokuga meetup in the Florida area. So far people have chimed in from:

Pompano Beach
Lakeland
Port Richey
West Palm Beach

I'm near Ft. Pierce.

I think a meet up would rock. Why not try to find a con to work it around? It is season, after all.

MEGACON is about the only significant Florida convention left, that I know of, as far as Anime is concerned. JACON has been disbanded, which is too bad really. Both are/were in Orlando, FL.

Orlando is cool with me, that's where my dad and stepbitch live, so I am there relatively often, so just let me know and like I said I will try to be there.

There are a few more, actually, but more down south. That just wouldn't be too practical for a midway meeting point between north and south like central FL would be.

Next MEGACON is Feb 2011. We could wait until then, or I could perhaps organize something sooner.

I'll be working a job at the Sun'N'Fun Fly-In in mid-April here in Lakeland.

Here is a link I found with a list of cons going on in FL this year. I'd check each individual site, since I've tried relying on this site before and they don't update quickly if a con is canceled.

I can't afford to go to a convention, but yeah. Lots of Floridians. *noddles* There seems to be a lot of cons going on this year here. O.o I looked it up a couple of weeks ago.

I can't really either, Smittee, I was just throwing out suggestions ^^

There's always places like public parks or malls. Ooh, Chucky Cheese! I dunno. I've never been the social butterfly so I'm at a loss of places to meet, haha.

Lol I think it's difficult for anyone these days to afford something like going on to a con. Especially someplace that's a distance away. With the economy the way it is these days, moneys tight. o_o I lack a car to get me anywhere anyways. xD Maybe when I get my tax return next year I can afford something like a meet up.

I did notice there were some smaller anime meet-ups on that site that only cost $5 to enter. That's a little bit better on the price range. (I had actually went on there before I looked at this thread, and then linked to everything not canceled in Florida.)
