I like those scenes to fit with what is happening within the story. If the story is all poetry and romance, having it end rough and tumble just doesn't seem to fit. and having someone persued with intent and vigor just wouldn't end right if he suddenly began strewing rose petals everywhere and lighting candles and feeding her strawberries.
