I awoke the next morning by my door; the midday sun was shining brightly on my face. I was thankful today was my day off because for one I felt like shit because of what happened last night and I was really hung over.

This day is going to suck. I thought as I pulled myself of the floor and walked into my bathroom, I took a long and very hot shower. I got out and blow dried my hair and pulled it into a messy bun and I dressed myself in grey cloth shorts and a black short sleeve shirt. I made some coffee and sat in my kitchen drinking it.

I was really hoping Sesshomaru wouldn’t try and contact me. But I don’t have such luck, the moment I was thinking that my phone started ringing. Please don’t be Sesshomaru! I repeated in my head as I walked over to it, and then I saw it was Sango and I breathed a sigh of relief.

 “Hello?” I asked

“Hey Kagome! You wanna go get some lunch?” Sango asked cheerfully

“Sure, when and where?” I asked while yawning

“One o clock at the café on 48th avenue.” Sango said

“Okay Sango! See ya then.” I said

“Bye Bye.” Sango said

Then I hung up the phone and saw that one was in about a half hour. I walked into my room and changed into dark denim shorts, a dark red v neck shirt and red sandals. I brushed my hair in a high ponytail and brushed my teeth, and then I gathered my things and walked out to my car. I got in and drove to Kito’s Café; I parked and walked in and found Sango waiting for me. I sat down across from her and she laughed and said.

 “You look hung over!”

I sighed and said. “I am, I had a few too many appletinis last night. It was the worst night of my life.”

“What happened?” Sango asked

After I told her what had happened she just sat there staring at me.

“I know it sucks.” I said then put a spoonful of ramen in my mouth.

“It really does, that is why I married a human, and I hated dating demons.” Sango said while laughing.

“I am done, I am swearing off men.” I said flatly

“I have a lesbian friend.” Sango said while tapping her chin with her finger.

I glared at her and playfully punched her in the arm. “I am not turning lesbian. I am just done with dating and men for a while! Geeze!!” I exclaimed

“But Sesshomaru was really, really good looking, and the sex was amazing until the incident.” I said as I played with my food.

“Did he try and hurt you or anything?” Sango asked

I shook my head

“Try and give him a chance then!” Sango exclaimed

“I can’t it is the Cynophobia.” I said dejectedly

Sango gave me a sympathetic look.

 “I am going to get going.” I said as I stood up.

“Call me later or something.” Sango said.

“Okay I will.” I said with a smile.

Then I walked outside and to my car.

 I drove back to my apartment around three, I walked in and tossed my stuff on the counter and sat down on my sofa, and I turned on my television and flipped through the channels. I felt sad I felt like I was never going to find a good guy, and if it wasn’t for the fear of dogs I would love to be with Sesshomaru. But alas, life is cruel.

 I jumped slightly when I heard my phone ringing; I walked over and picked it up. It was Sesshomaru. I hit ignore. Then he called again, and this went on for about a half an hour before I just decided to shut off my phone. Then I tossed it on the counter, and was about to sit back down when I heard knocking on my door. I walked over and opened it. It was Sesshomaru, I tried to slam my door shut but he held it open with ease.

 “Stay away!” I screamed

He walked in and slammed my door.

“I will do no such thing Kagome.” He stated as he walked over to me.

I felt panic, so much panic spreading throughout my body. I was walking, and I fell over and just curled up in a ball sobbing. Then I felt arms wrap around me. I tried to struggle out of his grasp but it was no use.

“I am not going to hurt you Kagome; you have no reason to fear me.” Sesshomaru said soothingly.

I just continued to sob. Sesshomaru rubbed small circles on my back to try and sooth me.

“I would never hurt you; you are a great and sweet person. I just want you to see all dogs aren’t the same. I really wish to be with you.” Sesshomaru said.

Then I finally looked up at him, and I could tell he was being sincere.

“I want to be with you too but…” I said

“But what? I have already shown you I won’t hurt you.” Sesshomaru said

“Then why were your eyes all red and your fangs showing?” I asked

“That was just my beast trying to take over; he wanted to claim you as our Mate, he wouldn’t hurt you either. He and I have both chosen you.” Sesshomaru stated

“Oh I see.” I said as I gazed at him.

“Can I take you as my mate?” Sesshomaru asked

I was shocked and I stammered for a minute.

“But. We have known each other for a day.” I practically yelled.

“That doesn’t matter, if my beast tried to claim you that means you are my soul mate. It doesn’t matter the amount of time we have known each other.”

I smiled and said. “All right.” Then Sesshomaru and I embraced and he kissed me passionately. And I knew things would be different from now on.

 After years and years of therapy my Cynophobia never went away but after knowing Sesshomaru for a day he showed me that all dogs aren’t the same.
