The Meeting

A/N: hey my name's Kim and this is the first story that i've posted on this site so don't be so harsh and give me some (nice) comments.

I, sadly, by the way, do not own Inuyasha or any of the characters that are involved within the series. (sob sob*). Although i wish it to be, you (most of the time) never get what you wish for.

Thanx for wasting your time by reading my story!!!!!!

Btw, some of them might seem a little bit OOC so you have been warned.

Chapter 1

Kagome Higurashi let out a sigh as she filled out the countless forms that sat on her desk. She was 23 years old with pretty blue eyes and looks that could kill. Her innocent smiles were as alarming and unexpected as they were deceiving. Currently, she was the youngest and most successful businesswoman in all of Tokyo. It had taken her years to get her own company, Higurashi Science and Technology Inc.

Currently, they were working on a cure for a new disease that had begun to spread in children. They distributed antidotes of every kind for every thing. Kagome, herself, could single-handedly find the cure herself but it gave her peace of mind to know that she was helping to support intelligent people that needed the money to support their families. In a way it was charity but it was also a way to get rid of some of the necessary work that needed to be done within a certain amount of time. Hundreds of scientists and helpers worked for her and after 5 years of working together, she had mastered their names and some personal facts. She had started the company at 18 after years of helping her father in his own lab, helping to save people's lives by finding solutions to the problems.

It was something that she enjoyed to do and something that she could not live without. Noticing she was getting off track, Kagome shook her head quickly and forced herself to finish her papers. Seven pens later, Sango Maeda, her best friend, popped her head in. "Have you eaten?" the black haired beauty asked. "Huh?" came her intelligent response.

"Thought so. Miroku and I are going out to dinner and we want you to come." Sango said, waddling in. Miroku was her husband of 2 years and they were expecting their first child in a few weeks. With one of her hands on her back and one on her enlarged stomach, she looked like a warrior mother-ready to hurt anyone who tried to hurt her unborn baby. Kagome yawned and stretched for a moment before she checked her digital clock. It was 7:30.

She had worked for twelve hours straight. Her stomach growled and she grinned sheepishly. "Maybe we should skip tonight. You and I can grab something to eat right now. We feel kind of hungry for some Mexican food. I'll give Miroku a quick call while you get ready." Sango smiled. Kagome rubbed her head vigorously and then took a quick look in the mirror that was in the top drawer of her desk. Her hair was disheveled and her make up had long been rubbed off.

Quickly she brushed out her hair and twisted it into a simple knot at the back of her head. Her make-up was quickly applied and perfected and she smoothed down her favorite dark blue pin stripe suit that was pure silk and comfortable to no end. Her four inch heels accentuated her now 5'9 stature. Grabbing her purse, she took a quick last check, she exited the office and bumped into a handsome silver haired man with piercing gold eyes. He gave her a quick smirk and then continued down to where Sango stood talking into her cellphone.

She watched as the gorgeous man leaned in to kiss her cheek and then made a small conversation. Kagome sighed and then leaned back against her door. A few moments later, she caught the sound of her name and instantly opened her eyes. Smack dab in front of her stood the silver haired man. "Sorry. What did you say?" she asked him, blinking her eyes in an attempt to wake up.

"I simply asked if you were enjoying you nap." He answered with a smile. That one simple action made her heart pound and butterflies tingle in her stomach. "Very much." She managed to say. Sango gave a secretive smile and made her infamous smooching face behind him. Kagome could not help but burst out laughing at her friend's antics.

Sesshoumaru merely rolled his eyes and his smile grew. "Sango Hitomi Maeda, Father would be very disappointed in you for acting like a child." He said swiftly. Sango made a face at him and stuck out her tongue. Then it hit her. This must be Sango's "brother."

Sango had lost her parents and younger brother at the age of 8 and had been sent to an adoption agency where Inutaisho Takashi had adopted her two months later. Sango had then gained a family of two brothers and one father. Growing up with all males, Sango had picked up their short tempers and bad habits. Kagome would know for she had been there for the entire ordeal. They had met at the age of 6 and had stuck together like superglue.

'Quite literally after one incident,' Kagome remembered fondly. One of the brothers, Inuyasha, had once been a crush of hers in high school before he had gone off with her cousin Kikyo. Sesshoumaru she had never met because he had always been wrapped up in one thing or another and had been too busy to spend time with his newly adopted little sister. Even though he was never there when Kagome had come over, he had always had some way or time to make it up to Sango with flowers or a promise for dinner the next night. Looking Sesshoumaru over, she saw only a slight similarity between Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru.

Frankly, Sesshoumaru was the mirror image of his father, Inutaisho. Inuyasha seemed more like his mother in his softer features whereas Sesshoumaru, she could tell, was all muscle. His eyes were now the color of the rich honey that could be found high in the mountains. His long silver hair was loose and reached just below his expertly tailored black suit. A dog emblem was embroidered over the first button of his silk shirt.

Any female in her right mind would definitely be attracted to a specimen such as he. "Do you persist in checking me out all night or are we going to get something to eat?" he asked. Kagome merely lifted an eyebrow and looked straight into his eyes, searching for some kind of vibe on what he was feeling right now. Sensing none, she straightened herself and slipped her arm into his when he offered it. Within this fifteen minute period of time in between bumping into him and getting into his limo, she had fallen hard for him and knew that this was something that was going to last forever, not a day.
