Goodbyes

Kagome knew at a young age she was different from others, and not in the usual voodoo magic way. For it wasn't really that unusual for a person in Japan to exhibit some other worldly trait, and no one frowned upon it except those who could not help but be jealous of those who possessed said traits.

Kagome was odd in that unlike the other kids of her time and of her school she did not have life easy, I mean there were others but none in the school that Kagome went to: Sheme'ha High. The only reason she was even there was, because of a scholarship she had received at a very early age from her English teacher at public school. An to tell the truth Kagome felt a little out of place there, especially with all the kids who picked on her when she first came there.

However, over the years Kagome had found a way to tune them out. Until the day came when someone wouldn't let her, because they said she needed a friend and like a kid craving attention Kagome took to the girl like glue.

Siruka did not seem to mind though, and soon as time past they came to be known as double trouble. For where one was the other was sure be right there with them or not far be hind. An so passed most of Kagome's elementary and high school years until the fateful day Siruka moved.

It broke both of there hearts, and each of them swore to the other that they would find each other in the future and that they would always be soul sisters.

"Siruka why do you have to leave, you're my sister. The only one I ever had, the only person who ever cared for me?" Kagome whispered her voice hoarse from unshed tears.

"Gome, sister I will always be your sister no matter what and I will always be here. This will not break us; we will make it through this and be sisters forever!" Siruka said voice shaking as she hugged Kagome to her saying in actions what words could not.

"Promise me, Siru! Promise that no matter what happens we will always be sisters! Promise you won't forget me like everyone else!" Kagome said tears finally falling making her voice crack on the last word as she worked to hold them back.

"I promise Kagome, I promise with all my heart and soul that you and I will always be sisters. Neither time nor distance shall tear us apart!" Siru said looking her in the eyes.

"I hope so, you're my only family" Kags said not caring anymore if the tears fell as she saw Siru's eyes begin to water too.

A look of clarity came into Siru's eyes, "Give me your hand Gome!"

Giving her hand to Siru she watched with curiosity as she swiftly cut a hand across her palm and then a mirror one on hers and said, "Your blood and my blood! (swiftly clasping there hands together) Our blood!"

"This gives an eternal bond between us, Gome, and through this we will always be able to feel each other," Siru said pulling her in for another hug.

*HONK HONK* "Siruka it is time to go, get your but out here!" Siru's mother Natasha yelled from her car at the bottom of the shrine steps.

"I love you sister Kagome, I'll call you as soon as we get there." Siru yelled taking off at a run after a quick hug and a very emotional goodbye.

"I love you to sister Siru, I'll be waiting" She yelled after her whispering under her breath, "be careful!"

This had been many years ago, before boyfriends and high school. However, even with all the changes they were still best friends this was Kagome's one reliance in life. "My one truth out of all this crap!" I said coming out of my memories and back into third period French. ^I'm just ready to be home, and out of this hell hole. I'm really going to need a nap if I expect to make it through work tonight without passing out. Today will be my second year anniversary of getting this job, and even better still no one knows.^ sighing I picked up the paper I was suppose to be doing and tired to concentrate again for what seemed to be the thousandth time today.

^Today just isn't my day.^
