Prologue- Death awaits

"I won't turn my head," She said. "I will watch as you die because it gives me peace."

His body jerked and writhed as her powers slithered through his veins, turning the body a shade of grey as the jewel pulsated between her finger tips. His hand reaches out to the jewel weakly and is slapped away. The man's dark curly hair begins to shrivel and grey. He is dying truthfully this time.

"I thought you were a priestess." He rasps, trying to con her into giving him a quick death.

"Unlike others who fear their hate and anger controlling their powers," She sneered, and with her lips almost touching the skin of his ear, she whispered, "I embrace it and I remain pure still."

The light from his eyes dimmed as a rush of purification powers rushed over him and his mouth fell open in a silent scream. Naraku's reign of terror had ended at the hands of Kagome.

"It's over," She murmured, rolling the now full jewel between her fingers. . .

The screams of her friends were the last things she heard before she fell into unconsciousness.
