Is This A Dream?

A/N: Hello to all of you wonderful readers out there. Sorry, but I'm kinda new at this writing stuff. So, forgiveness is required for the next few chapters for misspelling, short chapters, etc. Well, I hope you like this fic, I think it's going to go well if you encourage me to keep writing it...If you don't like it, then I might have to stop...

Chapter One: Is This A Dream?

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Inuyasha characters. But I do have a Sesshomaru plushie. *huggles plushie*

Summary: When Sesshomaru becomes curious of Kagome and her lifestyle, he decides to follow her home after Kagome and Inuyasha have a fight. Well, after jumping into the well after her, he makes the biggest mistake of his life....Curiousity is a very, very bad thing.

"Inuyasha," Kagome growled, her hands were balled into fists as she stood up in Kaede's hut. She was fuming and Inuyasha scoffed. "Sit, sit, sit, sit, SIT!" Growling and mumbling unlady like things, she stomped out of the hut with her yellow back pack strapped to her back.

Sango, Miroku, and Shippo were currently leaning against the wall, bowls in hand and eating their ramen. "When will he ever learn?" Shippo asked before he slurped up a noodle. The small kitsune popped open one green eye to look at the hanyou with his face currently kissing the boarded floor of the hut.

Sango and Miroku shook their heads. "Never." They both said in unison as they finished their meal. Shippo nodded and sipped the rest of the ramen.

"Stupid Inuyasha and his stupid shards. Stupid, stupid, stupid!!" Kagome stomped into the woods. Once again Inuyasha thought that the jewel shards were better than a good night's sleep. He's so selfish.... She thought and she frowned, remembering that he decided to let them rest because he sensed Kikyo near by. Not that it mattered anymore. She noticed that his running to her was getting more frequent.

Calming herself by taking long, deep breaths she stopped her stomping to a normal walk. Kikyo... Her eyes softened as she blinked, letting them fall half closed as she walked. What did Kikyo have that she didn't? Oh, she chuckled to herself, she didn't have anything. Not a damn thing. No heart beat, no real blood, her soul wasn't even her own. And most of all...no love... Kagome shook her head.

"Whatever, Inuyasha. If you think that she can offer you more than I, then so be it." She stated as she looked up at the sky that was fading into evening. Passing the Ancient Tree, she glanced at it before she kept on walking. Soon, the well had come into view. Smiling, she remember warm baths, shampoo, soap, Mom's cooking and most of all...a nice, warm, soft bed for her tonight.

Climbing onto the lip of the well, she let her legs dangle over the edge a bit before she jumped in, letting the blue light surround her. Soon she would be home, smelling her mom's cooking and hearing her Grandpa make up useless stories and her brother welcoming her home. Little did she know, that a blurr of white jumped into the well a while after she did.

"Mom, I'm home!" Kagome called after running through the sliding glass door. "Mom? Souta? Grandpa!?" She called, dropping her bag by the door after closing it, she walked into the kitchen. Noting the small, white slip of paper and a plastic bag full of money and one of her mom's credit cards. Picking up the slip of paper, she started to read it.

Dear Kagome,

Souta, your Grandpa, and I went to visit your aunt and her new baby for the rest of the month. I left some money and the credit card for you when you get home. I went grocery shopping for you, knowing that you'd be tired when you got home and couldn't go shopping.

See you at the end of the month,

Mom.

Kagome sighed and crumbled up the slip of paper, throwing it away. "Well, I guess I'm stuck here by myself. I'm just happy that it's the beginning of summer and I don't have school yet." She mumbled to herself before walking out of the kitchen. Glancing at her bag along the way, she glared at it like it was Inuyasha. "I'll deal with you later." She stated and walked up the stairs, picking Buyo up along the way.

Deciding that a bath would do some good right now, she walked into her room and set Buyo on her bed. Yawning as she pulled out something comfortable to wear, she walked into the bathroom.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~1 Hour Later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome walked out of her bathroom, her hair was twisted up into the towel that set on her head and she wore a pair of black pajama pants and a red tee-shirt. Looking to her bed to see if Buyo was still laying there or if he got up for some reason, she had to do a double take of what she saw.
Almost fainting on the spot, she rubbed her eyes and blinked a few times. On her pink sheeted, fluffy bed was none other than Sesshomaru. And what made her do a double take is that he was petting and somewhat playing with her cat.
"Uh, is this a dream?" She asked, looking at the Lord of the Western Lands.
He looked at her with his emotionless, golden orbs and pushed himself from her bed and stood in the middle of the room. He looked so out of place in her bed room, that she couldn't help but chuckle. "What, pray tell, wench are you laughing at?" He asked her.
She stopped laughing immediantly and glared at him. "I am not a wench, a bitch, a whore, a Miko, an it, a thing. I am Kagome." She stated and pointed to herself with her thumb. Now, just like Inuyasha, he had got her into a bad mood. And the look on his face said that this was somewhat amusing to him.
"Well, Ka-go-me." He stated and looked around the room quickly. "Why are you here, in this room?" He questioned, knowing that it was stupid to ask such a thing. The room smelled like her, like the first true spring morning and vanilla creme. So, it was definately her bed chamber and this is where she lived.
"This is my room, this is where I sleep at night. I live here." She stated, she still didn't think that this was happening, this had to be a dream. Yes, a dream. All she had to do was pinch herself and she'd be awake, laying in the bathtub. Moving her hand right hand to her left wrist, she pinched herself, not to hard. "Ow," Okay, maybe a little harder than expected.
"Why, did you just pinch yourself?" He asked, looking at her as if she was some sort of stupid being. But to him, she really was. But it was odd enough seeing him in her room after about a half a year without seeing him. She was turning 18 now and the Shikon No Tama was almost complete, except for Koga's shards and three other ones, they would have them all.
Half a year ago was the last battle with Naraku. Sesshomaru showed up just in time to help them out, and he did a great deal in the work to help them. After saying many thanks, he stated that he didn't come to help them, but to kill Naraku for being a nuisance and he turned and left...
Kikyo was there too, but she was injured during the battle and Inuyasha was too busy trying to keep her alive than to talk to his brother or ask if anyone else was okay. Koga had left before anyone remembered he was there.
Sighing angerly at the memory, she looked at him and shook her head. "Just trying to wake myself up. I don't think you like staying in here. Um, why are you here anyway?" She asked him, going over to the door and opened it, saying that he was allowed to walk out of the room.
As he slowly did so, she noted that he was different than he used to me. He wasn't really all that cold and distant anymore and she wondered why. Pushing that thought aside to ask later, she followed him down the hall.
"I was merely following you. I was curious as to where you lived and what your life style was like since you surely have a different lifestyle than most humans in this era." He stated and she snickered. He looked back at her from the corner of his eye. "What is funny?" He asked and stopped, turning a bit to look at her with a small glare.
"I'm sorry, Sesshomaru. But this isn't the same era that you live in. This is about 500 years in the future. If not, maybe a little more." He frowned. "I don't understand." He stated, she passed him and walked down the stairs. "Okay, well....The well that I jump into takes me to the Past, the Feudal Era. That's where you live, well...where you were. This is the future, where humans don't live cabins, but houses. We don't use horses, but trains, buses and cars." She turned around as he finished going down the stairs.
"I'll show you." She stated and looked at the somewhat confused expression on his face. "This," She pointed to a large box in the living room. "Is called a television. T.V., for short." She sat on the couch and patted the seat next to her, instead he cautiously sat down on the opposite side of the couch, afraid that the couch was a demon that was going to eat them.
He watched as she grabbed a thin black object and touched one of the colored things that were sticking out of it. The black box turned on and he raised an eyebrow. Interesting... He thought as she slowly flipped through the channels. "See, you get to watch moving pictures that can make an interesting story, movie, show or other educational things." She stated and turned it to Animal Planet. There, they were showing something about sharks.
Glancing at the corner of her eye at him, she decided that he was getting too interested in the tv. Smiling at the thought, she handed him the remote. "Here, you try." She stated, he looked down that the remote and slowly grabbed it taking it out of her hand. "Just press this button." She pointed to the up or down channel button. He pressed the button and looked at the t.v. as it changed from Animal Planet to a music channel where woman danced in very short clothing as one man danced in the middle of them. How odd, the lifestyle in the future..
Grabbing the remote from him, Kagome heard the Taiyouki growl in protest as she turned the T.V. off. "Come on, I'll show you some other things." She stated and showed him around the house. He learned about an Air Conditioner that changed the climate in a home. A refridgerator that kept food cold when it needed to be. An oven that heated the food, since a fire is no longer needed in this time. A computer that allowed you to do hundereds of things, like mailing and recieveing mail, playing games, learning different things, etc. A 'game system' that lets you play more advanced games in your free time. Then, there was a toilet, he didn't want to rethink the experience. To him, it looked like a large bowl with a cover to keep the water cold. But after hearing the Miko explain to him, he didn't really want to go near the thing....
"Well, that's everything in the house...I don't think you'd like to go outside.." She stated, and Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow as her stomach started to growl. "Hungry?" He asked her and she nodded. "Yes, but Sesshomaru. I'd hate to be rude, but I think you need to go back through the well to your own time." She stated and dragged him outside. Shrugging off her grasp on his sleeve, he looked at her. "Why, is it not normal for me to be in this time?" He asked and watched her become nervous.
"Well, no, you're not. So, can you please just go in there and jump back in the well?" She asked, looking at him with an innocent and begging face. He had recieved enough looks like that from Rin to not say no. Growling low in his throat, he slid open the door and stepped inside. Standing on the lip of the well, he jumped in as she walked up to the door. Sighing in relief that he was gone, she turned around to go back in the house until something stopped her.
"Wench, this Sesshomaru is not going anywhere..." Came Sesshomaru's voice from the bottom of the well.
Jumping down the stairs, she ran to the well and leaned over, looking down at him. "What?! Why the hell not?!"
A/N: Well, what do you think...yea..it's a little boring for the first chapter, I know. It'll get better, I promise....But, please, review, review, review. I love those reviews!
Next Chapter: Why isn't the well working, and the reason why Dog Demons shouldn't watch Dog Shows on Animal Planet. And, what is a car? And why doesn't Sesshomaru want to be in a car?
