Broken World by pitiful human

The Bar

Bankotsu lounged back in a booth his arm wrapped around a young girl, who couldn't possibly be of age. He whispered something into her ear, causing her to blush and hide her eyes beneath her bangs.

Renkotsu rolled his eyes in disgust. Not two hours out of the courthouse and already Bankotsu was planning to commit statutory rape. Actually trying that type of case would be a rather relaxing experience, compared to defending the assassin in a murder trial. Not that there was a chance that Bankotsu would be found guilty. The judge, jury, and entire court system was bought and paid for by Bankotsu's and Renkotsu's demon employers. However, it was still hard work endearing a nation to an assassin. He had to at least make the innocent verdict look plausible.

Bankotsu ran his hand up the girls thigh and under her skirt. She half-heartedly pushed his hand away and rewarded his efforts with an innocent blush. Renkotsu cleared his throat causing Bankotsu to look up. "Oi loosen up," he scoffed at the impeccably dressed man. He flagged the waiter down, "Could you bring this one a drink".

Bankotsu turned back towards Renkotsu. "Why are you always so damn uptight. You are after all the famous Renkotsu, defender of the weak and downtrodden assuring justice for everyone," He mocked. "Maybe what you need is a girl. Hey Kagome do you have a friend for Renkotsu here?"

She blushed in response. Renkotsu was amazed that a girl in her position could feel the need to ever blush. Though he had to admit she was attractive. She couldn't have been over seventeen and her body was toned and in shape. Probably a varsity cheerleader or something he thought lazily, as his eyes raked her body. Her face was lovely as well, flawless pale skin set off with dark gray blue eyes. She cast her eyes down as he studied her face, the feigned innocence only added to her desirability.

"That wasn't a rhetorical question," Bankotsu growled in her ear tightening his grip on her waist threateningly. She let out a gasp of pain causing Renkotsu's jaw muscles to tighten. There was just something about the girl that demanded his protection.

However, this became unnecessary as she yelled out across the room. "Sango, come meet my new friends". A girl taller and slightly older than Kagome sauntered over. Her body was just as nice as Kagome's and she displayed more confidence. Renkotsu acknowledged she was just as attractive, but she didn't have Kagome's astonishing eyes. However, as always he was pleased with the results of Bankotsu's violent actions, even if he didn't approve of his clients behavior.

Sango slid into the booth next to Renkotsu, her breath brushed across his neck as she introduced herself. He shivered in response to her closeness. He wasn't a stranger to women, but they always made him nervous and excited. He noticed Bankotsu eyeing the new addition to their party hungrily. He clearly regretted offering Kagome's friend to Renkotsu, and was already plotting to get them both.

Renkotsu sighed in defeat. It was not his place to stand between an assassin and his goal. He was just a defense attorney. He excused himself to the bathroom, and when he returned Bankotsu had an arm wrapped around each girl appreciating the differences in their figures.

Renkotsu finished the drink the waiter had brought without sitting down. He grabbed his coat off of the booth and waved goodbye to the company.

"Leaving already?" Bankotsu asked as he squeezed Sango's thigh.

Renkotsu pierced his lips and raised his eyebrows slightly. "I should get some sleep, before I have to start working on your next case".

Bankotsu raised his eyebrows innocently. "You're worrying about little old me. I'm sure these two girls will keep me busy and out of trouble at least long enough for you to take the weekend off," He said squeezing each girl sending them into a round of giggles.

"No Doubt," he responded. He pulled on his coat as he made his way toward the door inwardly fuming at the loss of Sango. He let a smirk rise on his lips as he thought about how he would get Bankotsu back. Maybe he would let the assassin stay a few nights in prison the next time he was caught for his sloppy work.

A news report blared on a public television set. Renkotsu paused to listen as he heard his own name mentioned.

*News Report*

The charges against Bankotsu have been dropped after the second day in court. The main evidence for the murder trial has been compromised leaving the prosecutor with nothing to lean on. The families of the twelve victims cried out for justice, but after the disappearance of the main witness the trial couldn't continue.

When asked about the turn the case had taken, Bankotsu's defense attorney Renkotsu said, "We're as upset about the outcome of the case as anyone. We have lost our chance to see justice played out and to prove beyond a doubt Bankotsu's innocence".

Renkotsu walked on smirking as his voice faded out. He might not like defending the arrogant bastard, but he was damn good at his job. Besides he made enough money to get any girl he wanted. Maybe he'd look those two up after Bankotsu had his fun with them. He was especially looking forward to seeing Kagome again, there was just something about her eyes.

After Renkostu left, the party had a few more drinks with Bankotsu copping an occasional feel or stealing a kiss from one of his two companions. Bankotsu finally decided it was time to leave, before the drinks dulled the pleasure he was sure to experience in the company of the two young girls. He slid Kagome out of the booth pulling Sango along after him.

He couldn't decide which one he liked more. They both had so many admirable qualities he thought as he looked them both over handing them their jackets. Sango had a lithe grace and a sure confidence, while Kagome had an adorable shyness. He decided he needed to gather more information before he made his decision. He smiled at the girls and placed a hand securely around each waist.

They left the bar to an audience of envious men. He noticed two who were giving him especially menacing looks. A young man with dark hair tied back in a short ponytail watched them with deep purple eyes. Beside him what looked to be a dog demon needed the table leaving claw marks, while his golden eyes continually strayed towards Kagome. His pointed dog ears poked out of long silver hair. Bankotsu smiled smugly at the two running his hand down Kagome's thigh and lifting up her short skirt giving them a free preview of what he would be enjoying. Kagome gasped and the color rose to her face once again. He noticed the demon growl as the man with the pony tail forcibly restrained him.

Bankotsu just chuckled at the dog's reaction. Must be a half demon he thought to himself. Not many demons would think about a human that way even if she is as attractive as my Kagome. He smiled down at the top of her head and kicked open the door exiting the bar.

He had parked his car a couple of blocks away slightly down an alley. The streets in this section were narrow, and he wasn't going to risk getting his Porsche scratched. He guided the girls down the alley and begun fumbling with the keys. He was suddenly spun around by Sango as she planted her lips on him. Okay he liked Sango better, he thought as she ran her hands up his shirt

His assassin instincts barely gave him a quarter of a second warning when he heard the dull scrape of metal. He instinctively dodged to his left escaping the edge of Kagome's knife.

She growled in frustration and lunged for another attack. He avoided her again, even in his slightly inebriated state he was prepared for her. He wasn't Naraku's top assassin for nothing. He smiled as he grabbed her wrist twisting it behind her. He spun her around and pinned her back against his chest. "Now, now Kagome play nice" He whispered in her ear.

She jerked her head away in disgust as he licked her neck. Luckily she was not alone. Sango pulled the man off of her, but Kagome was disarmed in the process. "Girls, you shouldn't be fighting over me," he joked with infuriating confidence.

He kicked out at Sango, but she expertly dodged his leg and landed a punch on his jaw. "Like we would ever fight over a disgusting demon collaborator," She bit out.

Bankotsu glared at the wench and spit out blood. This was no longer any fun. He drew out a small dagger and threw it at Sango, smiling in satisfaction as she shouted in pain. She had managed to avoid a lethal blow, but the knife was imbedded in her right shoulder. It was enough of a distraction to give him time to knock her out with a blow to the head.

He didn't have any time to gloat over his victory though, because Kagome had taken the opportunity to knock his legs from under him. She quickly straddled his prone form, effectively pinning him to the ground. She brought a knife to his neck piercing the skin, but she hesitated in distributing the lethal blow. He smiled at her hesitation and quickly used his strength advantage to reverse their positions.

He once again disarmed her, banging her hand against the asphalt until her knuckles bled. She glared at him angrily, her eyes daring him to kill her. Normally he would have, but she held a special place in his heart and with her pinned like this he could hardly resist. He used one hand to hold both of hers above her head and with the other made his way up her skirt grabbing onto her underwear.

Fear and understanding flashed in Kagome's eyes, causing him to smile with pleasure. However, that fear gave her unexpected strength. She managed to unpin one leg and brought her knee swiftly to his groin. It was enough to cause him to lose her grip on her hands. He automatically slapped her without thinking. Ignoring the slap she retrieved her knife with demon-like reflexes and jammed it into his heart.

His eyes widened in surprise and hatred. To think that this slip of a girl would kill him it was disgusting. Bankotsu didn't have much time to consider his demise, and was dead within seconds. Kagome was left sobbing under his heavy form his blood running over her providing a sickening warmth.
