~The life of a pirate~

Hey everybody!!! This is a response to the challenge set by Rain... I thought it would be fun! Just check out the challenge if you want and you'll get the basic idea. Well... here is the first chapter!

~chapter 1 - a boy in the water~

It was a foggy morning on the ship. The twelve year old Kagome leaned down over the railing of the ship watching the waves roll, slapping against the ship as it charged through the icy waters. She stood on the railing to get a better view but was grabbed by the waist and set back on deck by none other than the soon to be Comador Inuyasha. "What do you think your doing Kagome? You could easily have fallen in. I don't think you, being the governors daughter, should be up on deck now should you?" He said in a stern tone.

Kagome sighed. "but... I was just getting a better look at the sea." she replied softly. "nonsense! Now see to it that you get below deck now!" Inuyasha nodded his head off into the direction of the cabins. She started to walk off with her head down low but then sneaked to the front of the boat and stared into the open water ahead of them. About ten minutes later she noticed the air had become thick with smoke, and she started to look around. Then she saw it, a burning ship about twenty yards ahead of them. "CAPTAIN!" she screeched. The crew came running to the front and gasped.

Inuyasha came up to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "It must have been a merchant vessel, they don't run heavily armed." They continued on their way and Kagome saw some logs and wooden planks floating on top of the water on the side of the ship. Then she noticed a silver haired boy laying on top of what looked like a floating door. "Inuyasha!" He ran over to her and looked down into the water. "Men! Man overboard!"

Soon the boy was on deck. "Kagome I leave you in charge of his care for now" Inuyasha told her as he walked away. Kagome took this chance to examine the boy more carefully. He had long silver hair that flowed down past his waist and was tied loosely at his neck. The boy looked to be about fourteen as he was tall. He was also very muscular for a boy and was wearing a white sleeveless tunic and brown pants. She noticed what looked like gold peeking from the neck of his tunic and pulled it out. Kagome gasped when she saw the gold medallion hung on a simple silver chain. It had a skull and crossbones on it and looked deadly, although it was only a simple peace of gold. "You're a pirate aren't you?!" She asked the unconscious boy excitedly. Then she reached down to push some hair off of his face and almost screamed when he grabbed her arm and sat up halfway gasping for air. "What's your name?" She asked in a soothing voice. "gasp...Sesshoumaru...gasp" he said and then fell back onto the cot he was on.

Kagome held his hand and squeezed it softly. "Don't worry Sesshoumaru, Ill take care of you." She whispered. With that, he fell back asleep. She was startled out of her concentration, looking at the medallion she still held by the booming voice of Inuyasha. " Well what news of him? Anything?" She spun around and faced him nervously, concealing the medallion. "His name is Sesshoumaru... that's all I found out." "Very well then, Off to your quarters now young lady." She nodded and ran to do as she was told... for once.

A 17 year old Kagome sat up in her bed breathing heavily. She looked around the room wildly and got out of bed. Then she checked to see if the coast was clear and then went to her dresser. She opened it and inside was a secret compartment. She pulled it open, and pulled out the medallion. Then Kagome put it around her neck after getting the dust off and looked at herself in the mirror. Just then she heard a knock at the door and grabbed her robe after realizing it was her father. She quickly dawned it and hid the medallion in her night dress. "I'm decent father!" She yelled and her father walked into the room.

I left you at a boring cliffy! Sorry the chapter is a bit short but that's how its going to be for most of the whole story! Sorry people! But I gotta keep it interesting! Much love, Inudemonchik912.
