Diary of a Broken Man

I entered the military because I wanted to veer away from the normalcy of an average high school graduate life. I didn't want to go to a college where I have to study things again. I'm not even sure what I want to be, hence the reason I entered the military. Here, I will learn discipline and respect. Here, I will get the excitement that I could never attain from the real world. Out there, it's a bore. You get up, you get dressed and you go to wherever you have to go. Out there, you have to work to gain respect; otherwise, you're just a bum to the world. You're nothing and you are seen as nothing. I think I should've chosen to become one of the normal people. At least then, I am not fighting for survival.
