A Sister's Gift by Rinseternalsoul

Chapter 1 – The New Acquisition

A/N...

1. I don not own Inuyasha, and am in no way affiliated with Rumiko Takahashi

2. I would like to thank Striking Falcon for various ideas gained from her fanfic, Unexpected Allies Part One: How to Train a Taiyoukai. A great read, and highly suggested by this author.

'Keep perfectly still. Keep eye contact. Good. You've got his attention'. She could hear the low warning growl of the magnificent beast before her. She began slowly making her way to the carefully concealed trap, awaiting her new conquest. 'Follow me big boy'. She moved with feline grace over the leaves and branches spread on the forest floor. The smell of the numbing incense filled her nose, calming her. A helpful side effect.

'Almost there... come on pretty boy," she called silently, as she moved to just the right spot. She enjoyed this immensely. She absolutely lived for it. Killing them was fun, and rewarding, but slaying a creature like this would be a waste.

The adrenaline raced through her body. This was a dangerous profession, but it paid very well. A woman had to make a living somehow, and this was her choice.

She eyed the specimen, which had been dazed by her burning incense. She was not stupid though, he could still move faster than she ever conceived. This was a real prize and she knew just where this one would be going.

Sango looked over the taiyoukai. His pale skin stretched taught over bulging muscle. She took in the markings on his face and body. Two magenta stripes on his cheeks. A blue crescent moon on his forehead. 'How interesting'. This one had long white hair that reached down to the back of his muscular calves. Magenta stripes in his forearms, and thighs. He could be used as a breeder. He was beautiful and well built. He would certainly fetch a handsome price, but he would not go to auction. No, she had set out to catch this one as a gift.

He stepped forward, and Sango froze in her tracks. He was a strong one, physically and mentally. Had to be if he could still think coherently. He would be a tough one to train. She silently cursed her luck. It would be a shame if he didn't conform. She would have to destroy him then, and for some reason that didn't sit well with her.

Sango reached behind her back, and slowly withdrew the vial hanging from her sash. She popped off the cork and spilled the smelly blue liquid onto the ground in front of her. The smell of it made her nose wrinkle in disgust. She knew this would be practically unbearable to the inuyoukai. He moved his clawed hand to cover his face and nose, before snarling. Now was her chance.

Sango flipped backwards landing on her right hand and neatly propelling herself over to land squarely on her feet. In the brief instant that she made this move, her prey sought out his attack.

"Now!" Sango called loudly.

She watched as the inuyoukai fell into her well-laid trap. As soon as his feet touched the ground just in front of her he fell into the pit. She grabbed the jar from the boy. She lit the cloth hanging from the jar in her left hand, and threw it in with him. His roars died immediately as the incapacitating smoke filled the deep hole. It was finished.

"Good work Kohaku!" Sango called to her little brother. He had proved to be invaluable in her profession, and she was proud to train him to follow in her footsteps.

Kohaku ran back up to Sango with a big smile. "We got him sis! "

Sango smiled warmly and with a hug she said, "Yes we did."

"I have a question, sis? How is it that he did not sense the pit?" The young boy asked eagerly.

"With Inuyoukai, it's all about the sense of smell. Take that away and you have them at a distinct disadvantage. The incense and potion dazed him and also stole his ability to smell the trap." She patted the boy on the shoulders. "Fetch FiChun and Sirme. We need to get him chained before he awakens. This one is not to be taken lightly."

Sango watched as the youth ran off to fetch her personal youkai slaves. The beautiful youkai exterminator began the task of clean up. She gathered her little jars and trinkets that were used in the capture. They would be used again in the future.

By the time FiChun, an inuyoukai, and Sirme a tiger youkai, arrived the smoke had all but cleared from the pit. Sango sent Sirme in first, as his nose was not quite as delicate as FiChuns'. In minutes Sirme climbed the ladder and deposited the new acquisition on the ground with a 'thud'. FiChun picked up the huge males' legs and Sirme grabbed him under his arms. Sango followed them to the wagon waiting on the edge of the forest.

The wagon was equipped to handle Sango's new conquests. It was loaded with a cage specially made to contain powerful youkai. Inside there were cuffs hanging from the top. The cuffs were infused with powerful magic that quenched the youki. This was really overkill for an inuyoukai, as the smoke used in capture kept the beast knocked out for one to two days. Sango never relied on one plan without having a backup plan available.

Miroku had just finished aiding the troubled spirit of a young villager when he caught sight of the demon slayer's wagon. He stood in place waiting to catch a glimpse of the woman named Sango, a youkai exterminator by trade, and a damn good one. He could clearly see her crew and knew that she had made an addition to her livestock. Truthfully the monk could care less about the unfortunate youkai. He only hoped to catch a glimpse of that woman's behind. Out of all his travels, and all of the lovely women he had become acquainted with, Sango out-shined them all in that respect. 'Mmmm' His mouth salivated a bit just thinking about the firm roundness held so tightly in her black leather combat attire. Silently he vowed to one day grab that butt, even though he would pay a dear price for his actions. A Houshi's sacrifice is simply part of the job.

Sango saw the handsome young monk, Miroku, and flashed him a generous smile. She waved to him, before moving to hang from the other side of the wagon. He was gentle, wise, and kind, but he just seemed to have this horrible fascination with her rear end. She had heard several of the village women discussing his lecherous ways, but had yet to experience it first hand. 'Maybe he's afraid?' Sango thought as she passed him by. 'What the hell am I thinking? I don't want him to act like that towards me! .... Do I?' Quickly she shrugged those thoughts off, as she had business to attend to.

Sango waved to the little village children who ran alongside the wagon, curiously trying to get a look at the captive treasure inside. Their cries of awe and wonder always brought a smile to her lovely slender face. She threw her head forward once more sending her long ponytail whipping around once more to her back. Up ahead she could see her estate. She quickly scanned the area, and her crew, making certain that all was in order for the new arrival.

As they stopped at the huge barred gates, FiChun leapt down to release the lock. The lock really had no purpose, except for show. It made the villager's feel a little safer from her 'pets', but it wouldn't stop anything she brought home. What they didn't know wouldn't hurt them. Besides, she kept a tight ship, and the chances of a demon under her control escaping were slim to none.

Passing through the gates Sango looked over her domain. Her home was built to the right, made of hardened white clay, sand, and such. It was very different than the paper homes regularly adopted by Japanese culture, but there was a reason for that. Safety and security. Something Sango worshipped as diligently as she did the great Kami above. To the left were her gardens, containing her crops, along with a few of her favorite varieties of flowering plants. Just behind the crops and the house was a huge building, built much like her home. The foremost part held the training facilities, the dojo, and armory. In the rear were the holding cells. There was a large archway that ran through the center of the whole thing just wide enough for her wagon to pass straight through.

When Sirme stopped the wagon, Sango jumped down from her perch. She quickly made sure her new acquisition was still out cold, then she checked the awaiting cell over for security. She looked over the enchanted chains and cuffs mounted on the wall, and she carefully inspected the bars lining the cell's outer wall and small window. She glanced to the creature's bedding, insuring that the hay was nice and fresh. Satisfied that her trophy could not escape or harm himself, she returned to the wagon. FiChun unlocked the cage for his mistress, and Sango stepped inside. This part always made the hair stand up on the back of her neck. The close proximity to untamed ferocious and powerful beasts, was enough to make any seasoned warrior edgy.

Once inside the cage, Sango pulled the second vial from her sash. She popped the top off and smeared a dab of the liquid just underneath the inuyoukai's nose, insuring his continued sleep. Once her task was complete Sango jumped down and backed away for the muscle to take over. FiChun unlocked the cuffs and the demon's limp upper body fell to the floor. Sirme pulled him by the feet out of the wagon. Both male youkai picked up the inuyoukai and carried him into his new home. Sango and Kohaku quickly locked the cuffs around his wrists.

Sango pulled up the inuyoukai's thick mane of white hair and she motioned for Kohaku to do the honors. Her brother pulled a beaded necklace from his pocket and slipped it on the taiyoukai's head. With the final detail taken care of, Sango gave the word for everyone to exit the cell. She secured the lock, then stepped back to admire the ethereal being. She was quite proud of herself, and she knew that he would make a fine gift.

Sango sent FiChun and Sirme to tend to their duties and she turned to Kohaku. "I say we celebrate," she smiled cheerfully. "First let's go to the springs and wash this putrid smoke from our bodies, then we will go to the village for a bit. How does that sound?"

"That sounds great!" Kohaku cheered.
