The Forgotten by Iridescent

Lost

Rin was determined to beat Jaken. Everybody knew once Rin set her mind to something, there was no stopping her. So on she ran. "Get back here you insignificant human!' Jaken sighed. She was a mile ahead of him and he was already out of breath. There was no way he would catch her at this rate. Of course, he could just let her run off and maybe, just maybe, Lord Sesshoumaru wouldn't notice that she was missing....... Well, he was certain of this: He was utterly, undeniably, dead. *** Rin had to take a break. She stopped to rest against a tree. She giggled to herself. It was a lot of fun racing with Jaken. Lord Sesshoumaru had gone off somewhere, ( Rin never payed attention because she knew he would be back) and that had left her all alone with Ah-Un and Jaken. Not that she minded, of course. Then something caught Rin's eye. It was a shiny, glittery, something. 'What is it?' she wondered. She walked over and picked it up. How beautiful it was! It glowed a pale blue in her hands. The sparkling wonder seemed to capture her eyes and hold them there. She couldn't pull away. Then, something snapped Rin from her daze. It was a low growling sound. Rin, having a curious nature, decided to check it out. To bad Rin had never heard the saying, 'Curiousity killed the cat.' *** Kagome was hopelessly lost. She had decided to go on a short walk after sunset. After all, the Sengoku Jidai was always beautiful when it was getting dark. Leave it to Kagome to get lost in the forest. Alone. Unarmed. Not to mention youkai were always on the prowl. She was such a baka! Why didn't she tell Inuyasha where she was going? 'Because that insensitive jerk wouldn't have let me go if I had told him,' she thought. Still, at least she would be alive. 'Kagome, don't be silly, you'll make it out alive,' she told herself. 'Think positve thoughts, you'll make it.' Just then Kagome heard a loud, high-pitched scream.
