Wished Away by Calpurnia the Forlorn

Chapters 1-5

Ch. 1-The Wish

Okay, I've never written a Labyrinth fic before, but this idea came into my head, and I have to write it. It's an odd crossover, I know, but just bare with me. This takes place just before the two would have met Shippo.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Another hot, summer day had brought for another wave of extreme heat and Kagome was nearly melting from exhaustion. Inuyasha, aka 'slave driver', had insisted they hurry. He wanted to show her something, he had said.

"Inuyasha." She intoned irritation evident in her soft voice. "I'm hot, my feet are killing me, my back needs a good rub, and I haven't eaten yet. Where are we going?" The hanyou huffed and all but ignored her.

"Inuyasha..." She said. Silver ears flattened against an equally silver mane, but no other indication he had heard her was shown. Kagome stopped dead in her tracks. "I did not get up at 3:00 am just so we could walk all day!" She growled.

Without missing a beat the hanyou grabbed the miko and continued on his way. "SIT!" She fumed, throwing them both down hard upon the unforgiving earth. Kagome slid, scrapping her leg from thigh to shin. Tears threatened to fall but she would not cry out. Inuyasha finally broke free of the spell, only to glare angrily at the girl who caused all his problems.

Kagome stood and limped over to the nearest tree, stifling a moan when she saw the extent of the damage. She was going to need lots of bandages and disinfectant when they got back to the village. Inuyasha stiffened and looked to the west, a slow smile creeping into his otherwise cold eyes.

"Not long now." He said, grabbing the injured girl and dragging her off. "Stop it!" She hissed, pain lacing its way into her words. But the hanyou ignored her completely, determined to get where he wanted to go.

As they rounded the corner, Kagome gasped. Sheer power enveloped her and it took a minute for the surroundings to register. Before them sat a clearing, complete with a lake, wooded bridge, and one very pissed looking Sesshoumaru. Kagome's mouth fell open, half in awe half in fear. What the hell was Inuyasha thinking?

"What the hell do you want?" Inuyasha growled. Sesshoumaru merely raised an elegant eyebrow but otherwise ignored his brother. His attention turned instead to the struggling miko, who was frantically trying to hide behind the hanyou.

A whole 30 seconds later the hanyou realized this.

"What the hell would you want with Kagome? She's not even pretty!" He snapped. Cheeks burning bright red, Kagome turned the full force of her anger on the hanyou. "NANAI!?" She fumed. "SIT!" The hanyou crashed into the otherwise unmarred ground, creating a crater no less than three feet deep.

"You irritating, repulsive idiot!" Kagome yelled. "I didn't get dragged out of bed before sunrise for you to insult me!" With this the miko turned to leave, only to discover Sesshoumaru had moved behind her during her outburst.

The glare he gave her was of a demon having found its prey. Kagome spluttered and stepped back, more than a little confused by the menacing glare she was receiving. What had she done to anger the youkai? No thoughts came to mind...

Was this why Inuyasha had brought her here?

Her thoughts were interrupted when Inuyasha stood, and grabbed her, tossing her into a nearby tree. "I was hoping to make this easier." He snarled. "But it looks like even Sesshoumaru wants you dead."

Kagome flinched but otherwise said nothing. What the hell had gotten into these two?

"You know what I wish?" The hanyou said, seconds before his brother decapitated him, "I wish that the goblins would come take you away, right now!"

Kagome screamed and jumped out of the way as Inuyasha's head smacked into the tree she had been leaning on. The miko turned terrified eyes onto the taiyoukai, a new resounding fear and understanding in her eyes. Just as the youkai moved to destroy her as well, a gust of wind knocked them both down.

Sesshoumaru snarled and turned to the new-comer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

A cliff-hanger! Those of you who have seems the movie must already know who this is. And to answer the question already on your mind, yes, Inuyasha had brought Kagome here for the sole purpose of wishing her away. He didn't want a big, messy scene where Kaede tried to stop him.

Ch.2-Beginning

Kagome gasped as she took in the creature before her. Startling blond hair shone starkly against alabaster skin. She gaped openly before firmly snapping her jaw shut. Perfect! Another bishounen to ruin her life with death threats and pain.

"Well, well, well. What have we here?" The fae sneered, and Kagome rolled her mahogany eyes. Figures he'd have to be an ass.

Sesshoumaru was up in a blink, tearing the fae apart, or he would have f he hadn't suddenly found himself immobilized. Laughter echoed through the clearing, like a lover's soft touch. Kagome shivered and turned away, a hot blush staining her pale skin. Unseen to her eyes, both males were instantly intrigued by her demeanor.

The youkai snapped back first, furious that he had allowed himself to examine the girl. While the fae's attention was diverted, Sesshoumaru broke free, aiming for the girl's throat. She had to be stopped. Her witchcraft would bother him no more.

Before he could get there, the force that had bound him before caught him again. He tried to turn and growl, but just then the world twisted and changed. Before them all was a labyrinth of impossible size, continuing on until, at the center, one could just barely make out a castle. Kagome gasped in awe and turned to the fae, confusion seeping into her dazzling eyes.

Both non-humans became entranced momentarily before returning to reality. A certainty colored both their visions red. This girl was dangerous.

"Where... are we?" She asked, fear creeping into her voice.

A smirk lifted the corners of the fae's mouth. "It has come to my attention that he who wished you away has passed on; therefore I will give the two of you 13 hours to solve my Labyrinth." Kagome's eyes twitched in irritation.

"Where. Am. I?" She hissed through clenched teeth. Sesshoumaru growled as he was released from the entrapment. Golden eyes glared hatred at the fae. "Goblin King." He snarled. "I will do no such thing."

Kagome stood and marched over to the two. "I exist you know!" She huffed. Two sets of eyes turned to her, one amused, the other deadly. "What the hell is going on?"

The Goblin Kind merely smirked in response. "Perhaps you should tell your new human what Inuyasha has gotten you into." He said, turning back to the youkai.

Sesshoumaru growled and lashed out, meeting empty air. "Such a pity." The voice was everywhere and nowhere. "You have 13 hours, both of you must be alive to succeed."

The taiyoukai turned burning eyes onto the girl who was now his charge. She gulped and stepped back, instinctively trying to find a fast exit. "Come, bitch." He snarled, grabbing the girl and dragging her down the narrow hill.

She stumbled and fell, but he paid it no mind, dragging her down the beginning of the Labyrinth, where a messenger waited to open the door.

"Stop!" She begged, hating herself for the words. "Please, stop." Just as she thought he was going to ignore her completely and drag her all the way to the center (she'd understood that much) the youkai stopped and released her. Kagome flinched as she tried to stand. Both legs were now scraped up and were bleeding freely. The miko wrinkled her nose in pain. She couldn't walk this way, the most she could do is limp.

Suddenly a pair of cloth clad feet entered her line of sight. Kagome looked up to see the demon lord glaring in absolute hatred at her! The girl gulped and whimpered, moving away as fast as she could. She stood, slipped and fell. The girl cried out and began scooting backwards as fast as she could, her death looking her in the eyes.

Just as she was sure he was going to rip her apart, the taiyoukai hefted her onto his shoulder. Kagome squealed and fought back, desperately wishing this was all just an odd dream. Claws dug into her sensitive skin. Tears fell from her eyes as she submitted, to afraid, angry and confused to do much else. She needed to get some sleep, but somehow she thought that wasn't going to be possible.

"Password." The door guard announced. Kagome jumped. From her vantage, she hadn't seen the messenger. Sesshoumaru growled and killed the goblin, pleased to have fresh blood on his newly recovered hand. Kagome felt the movement and kicked, resulting in her being dropped on her rump.

"Quiet, bitch." Sesshoumaru hissed, gold eyes burning crimson.

Anger swelled and overwhelmed her fear. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?" She exploded. "You... you... Arg! My name is Kagome! Not bitch, wench, girl or human. Got it? Ka-go-me!" She ignored the low growl emanating form the youkai's throat, intent only on getting some answers.

Kagome took in her surroundings, trying to quiet her sudden rage. She was in a confusing world, and her only 'ally' was Inuyasha's murderer. Kagome huffed at that. The hanyou had been trying to get rid of her, the little bastard! She was sure that he had meant to send her here all along.

Kagome then noticed that there was no way of entering the labyrinth. Her only means of escape was gone without that damn door. The miko looked to the dead guard, then turned and glared at Sesshoumaru. "You killed our only way in!" She accused, stepping back as he stepped forward, an evil glint in his eyes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jareth watched from his throne room, amusement evident in his multicolored eyes. They'd never make it through.

His amusement quickly turned to interest, though, as he took in the way the human girl handled herself. He could use a challenge like her, he decided. He hadn't had a good challenge since Sarah Williams, and this Kagome Higurashi seemed a decent change in events.

A grim smirk settled onto his ethereal features. But this time, it will be she who fails. He thought.

Ch.3-Red Door or Blue Door

"Silence, wench." Sesshoumaru hissed. Concentration on anything proved very difficult with this human about. An angry growl fell on deaf ears before the girl launched an all out attack, brandishing a stick she'd found on the ground. While the piece of wood would cause no harm to his person, it was painfully obvious that this human needed to be put in her place.

And he didn't have the time nor the patience to do it.

His quickly caught the flailing wood from her clenched hands and threw it, glaring daggers at the girl. It was insulting to say the least that he had to endure her company at all.

With a surprising amount of force for a human, Kagome shoved the taiyoukai back, her anger turning her vision red. "How the hell do we get in? Huh? This is YOUR fault! You and that damn brother of yours!" She seethed.

The youkai caught the girl's hands, intrigued by the way her mini, non claws clenched and unclenched in her anger. A frown marred her brow before she exploded into action. Faster than he would have expected of a human, Kagome had the stick in hand again. This time she turned and began hitting the wall, completely ignoring his existence.

Intrigue burned into anger. How dare the ningen ignore him!

Without further thought, Sesshoumaru hefted the angry miko into his arms and jumped over the wall. He would have continued doing this, but after the first wall, all the others grew until one couldn't tell where the wall ended and the sky began.

Annoyance sparked clear in his amber eyes for a split second. Just as quickly, all emotion disappeared.

"SESSHOUMARU!" Kagome screamed. "PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT!" Her loud screams hurt his powerful ears, and so it was with pleasure that he dropped the girl onto her rump.

She jumped up to argue again when she noticed her whereabouts.

"Where... are we?" She wondered. Turning her head this way and that proved fruitless. Both roads looked the same. The youkai, however, seemed to know where he was going. Without hesitation he headed for the left. He seemed to expect her to follow.

"What if I want to go right?" She asked haughtily, turning down that very path. She heard his grown and took off, running for all she was worth. Rationally, she knew he'd catch her, but she didn't care. She had had enough of this entire situation.

Before she made it three feet he had her. A rumbling growl emanated from his chest, and suddenly Kagome was so tired she couldn't fight anymore.

"This Sesshoumaru is tired of playing, miko." He growled. Kagome felt the rest of her sanity fly out the window. She laughed. Somehow, the youkai seemed startled, but her laughter only increased in volume. She stumbled but he held onto her, keeping her balance. Never in his life had he seen a human laugh in his presence. Cry, scream, and even cower, but never laugh. He found it quite intoxicating. In fact, he was so distracted that when she yanked away and bolted again down the right path, it took him a millisecond to realize what she had done.

Now more than a little wary of the girl, he followed at a more sedate pace. She had the oddest way of messing with his head. But then, she had been a constant intoxication since he'd first laid eyes on her. He had been genuinely surprised to discover that this delectable little female was human. He had covered it up, of course, under the pretense of mocking his brother. But even as he failed, even as his blood fell from the lost arm, she had mesmerized him.

There was something about the human that was dangerous. He had bid his time and attacked when Inuyasha had been distracted, but that was what had caused this whole mess.

Up ahead, the girl seemed to be talking to some small, insignificant creature living on the wall. The light caught her hair and brought out the hidden colors. All at once it was beautiful and irritating. The bitch would die upon their return home. It would not do to be so obsessed with a human female. He would not be his father!

His icy glare startled the girl, and when his hand clamped down on her arm she shrieked. He turned and hit her, sending the girl flying into the opposite wall, where she promptly fell through. With a feral growl he reined his temper and followed after her.

Kagome heard him coming and scrambled to her feet, wariness in her steps as she moved back. She had the distinct feeling that she wasn't leaving this place alive.

Sesshoumaru reached for her, indenting to keep the miko near him. While this situation was ungodly, he had understood completely the threat behind the Goblin King's words. They had to reach his castle together or neither would leave the Labyrinth. But the girl was upset, he realized too late. She turned and fled.

With a sigh that was demeaning to his position, the youkai followed her swiftly. While her death was eminent, he would not be stuck her simply because she was afraid.

Kagome ran until she collided with a wall that appeared out of nowhere. She fell, dazed, onto the cobblestones beneath her. She was vaguely aware of voices, but her vision was blurred and all she could she was red and blue. Then two shields. Then the doors behind them. "Wha...?" She started, but stopped as he vision cleared.

Before her were two, no four, male creatures. Two right side up, and two upside down. A blush stained her pale cheeks. Their position was simply wrong on so many levels...

Sesshoumaru found the girl like that, blushing prettily. A sudden, irrational jealousy overcame him and he had to visibly take control over his anger to stop from killing the door guards.

When he was satisfied that he would do the girl no harm, he pulled her to her feet. "Do not run again, human." He chided annoyance apparent in his voice. Kagome looked at him suspiciously and nodded before turning back to the doors.

Ignoring the angry growl behind her, Kagome approached the doors. "Excuse me," she began, "but can you tell me where these doors lead?"

The guards began to laugh and whisper to their respective partners. She huffed in annoyance. "Hello?" She asked. They seemed to settle down, momentarily, and answered her question.

"One of the doors leads to the castle and the other leads to (babababom) certain death." Kagome rolled her eyes. Of course these stupid guards just HAD to be over dramatic.

"One of us always tells the truth, and the other always lies." The red door continued. "I tell the truth, he always lies."

"I do not, I tell the truth." Blue said. "Oh, what a lie." Red door commented.

Kagome had had enough. "Can you could?" She asked through clenched teeth. They looked confused. "Okay, do you know what colors are?" They nodded. "Good." She said.

Just as Sesshoumaru was about to question the girl, she pointed to her own cloths. "What color is my skirt? Red door shouted "Purple!" And Blue door shouted "Green!" Kagome sighed. "So the blue guards tell the truth." She said. They seemed confused but didn't ask questions, thank kami-sama.

Kagome stepped up to the blue door. "Does this door lead to the castle?" She inquired. "Yes!" He said firmly. "Okay, then we'll take this door." She said. Instantly the door was moved so they could go through.

Sesshoumaru had to admit, she was intelligent, for a human.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jareth was delightedly surprised by her cunning. Even dear Sarah had not been smart enough to out-maneuver the doors. However, the next surprise would prove to be quite entertaining, he was sure.

He turned his attention to the demon, none the least pleased to see the same satisfaction burning in those amber eyes.

So he had competition for the little human, did he? No problem. Where the youkai hit, growled and snarled he would be kind and... generous. A malevolent smirk played across his lips. When he was through, the girl wouldn't want to leave, of that he was positive.

Ch.4-Helping Hands and Useless Information

Arguing with the demon lord was tiring, Kagome decided. So instead of asking him to follow her, she simply grabbed his hand and stepped through...

And then the floor caved and they were being held up by a whole lot of hands sticking out of the walls. Pure annoyance colored Kagome's eyes. "Now what?" She asked sarcastically.

"We're helping hands." Kagome jumped and looked around, startled to see that the hands themselves and formed together to speak. A dangerous growl from below her turned the girl's attention to Sesshoumaru, who was angrily pulling at his 'bonds'. "What is the meaning of this, wench?" He demanded.

Kagome growled. "In case you haven't noticed, O Perfect One, I'm stuck too!" She hissed.

"Which way?" The hands asked suddenly. "Yes, which way." "Um... Kagome started.

"Up or down."

"Come on, come on, we haven't got all day."

"Which way do you want to go?"

When the hands were finally done interrupting her, Kagome rudely chose up. They laughed and dropped their cargo anyway, so it was with great anger that Kagome landed directly on top of an equally angry Sesshoumaru.

A small door closed above them, giving very little light to their cage. Sesshoumaru, however, could see perfectly. So when the Goblin King himself appeared the taiyoukai attacked. To Kagome, there was no vision, so she heard a low growl, laughter, some shuffling, and then the candle in the center of the room came to life.

Sesshoumaru was growling menacingly at the fae who had trapped them there while that very fae laughed and tormented him. Anger surged and before she could stop herself Kagome was yelling, jabbing her finger with every word into the fae's chest.

"You're the one who trapped us here and then you go and be tormenting! If you think for one minute that I'm going to take this crap from an egotistical bastard then you have another thing coming. I'm not traveling with Sesshoumaru for your amusement-".

The miko was caught off when lips descended and caught hers. It was a chaste kiss, but had her blushing beet red all the same. His arms came around her and his tongue sought her out. She jumped at the feel of it. He pushed her jaws apart and explored her further, sighing when she tensed. This was rather obviously rather new to her, so he let her go.

She shot across the room, a hands coming up to touch her lips...

The silence was broken when the youkai growled loudly enough to shake the oubliette. The flustered Kagome was suddenly flustered no more. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING?" She shrieked, and before she could stop herself she had slapped their captor.

To her amazement, he simply laughed. "How fetching." He decided. With a wave of his gloved hand, an exit appeared. "I will give you this as a present, Kagome, for being so damnably stubborn." He told her. And then, with a flourish he was gone.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The lasting impression that Jareth had wanted was active. She wouldn't be able to stop thinking of his kiss, and thus she would effectively ignore the youkai who accompanied her. A slow smile caught the Goblin King's lips. This would be easier than he had originally thought.

Her slap had stung, and it had surprised him. He should have expected retaliation, he supposed. It had been rather apparent from her reaction that Kagome had never been kissed before. This suited him very well.

And then, right before the fae's eyes his crystal portrayed a sight he thought he'd never see. The youkai Sesshoumaru had pulled the miko to him, and was... Hugging her?

It was odd to say the least, but it seemed to calm the miko's frayed nerves. She relaxed against him, nearly melting into those dangerous arms.

He would have to up the stakes...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kagome was startled to say the least, first a kiss and now a...hug? The kiss had been downright weird, but Sesshoumaru holding her close as though they were lovers was another matter entirely.

His deadly fingers were working magic on her frayed nerves, easing the tension from her neck and shoulders. She was at a loss as to what to do. This travel through the labyrinth was quickly becoming very confusing.

When the fae had kissed Kagome, he had known what he had to do. It was either kill her right this minute, or make a claim for her.

He did NOT want to be stuck in this dreadfully dull place, and so had opted to keep the girl. She had, in any case, been a constant plague since first he saw her, so why not keep her? He didn't need to mate her to keep her, after all...

But the thought of taking her as his mate while she so easily accepted his embrace was quite tempting.

With a sigh of reluctance, Kagome pushed away and headed for the newly-made exit. "We don't have much time left, ne Sesshoumaru?" She asked quickly. He wasn't fooled. She was still just as red as she had been when the fae had kissed her.

She blushes for me? He wondered. Such a simple thing to be embarrassed about, he decided, but though it adorable of her.

Shaking such thought and words from his head, the taiyoukai followed after his ward. He paused momentarily at that word, and liked it the sound of it. HIS ward... She was to follow HIM.

So without further hesitation, Sesshoumaru took the lead, grabbing Kagome's hand and pulling her after him. She jumped, startled, and then glared heatedly. "I'm not a child!" She snapped. But the youkai simply ignored her and continued on his way.

Before long they came to a corridor with giant, rock faces who spoke incessantly about how they were 'going the wrong way". "Oh, shut the hell up!" Kagome huffed. "If we're going the wrong way, then why would something be telling us about it? Seriously. All you help to do is tell me I'm going the RIGHT way!"

The faces seemed to get upset at that, and a particularly big one started to cry. Mahogany eyes rolled in sheer annoyance.

Sesshoumaru led her forward until they came upon a ladder, at which case he hefted her up and jumped, landing gracefully on the top of what appeared to be a clay vase.

When she was set down again, Kagome frowned at her surroundings. Just what the hell was with this place? The vase was sitting on a table, a table that was not connected to the ground in any way. In fact, you could see under the table. How could they have 'climbed' out of a ladder from so far down when the vase was sitting on a table?

Her thoughts were interrupter when a goblin with a bird-head thing on his head walked to a bench and sat. The youkai determinedly ignored the creature, but Kagome had to ask.

"Excuse me, but do you know how to get to the center of the Labyrinth?" The thing simply shook its head.

"Ah, young lady." It said. Its voice was like dry sandalwood. "Sometimes the way forward is the way back." He said this like it was the most important piece of information ever given. Kagome rolled her eyes. The goblin soon fell asleep, pulling a box out of his robes as he did so. The bird spoke up then, and the miko nearly jumped out of her skin. She had thought it was simply a hat, nothing more. "Please leave a contribution in the little box." It said.

Kagome glared. "You didn't tell me anything." She snapped, and promptly turned to follow the youkai lord. The bird sighed.

"Well, well." It said. "There go a couple of suckers..." It frowned when it said this. She hadn't bought the trick. Oh well.

"Ugh." It said at last. "It's so tiring being your head."

Ch.5- The Fire Gang

The lyrics used in here were made and produced by David Bowie, who (for those of you who have never seen the Labyrinth) also played Jareth. This was all back in 1986, so it was about 17 years ago that this took place. The song WAS used in the movie, and it's called Chilly Down.

Oh and a phooka is a destructive faery that travels in a pack, they have the body of a goat or horse and the head of a human male. Faeries and humans fear them and avoid them at all costs

***@***

Kagome stared in rapt fascination at the hedge maze. She had seen several, when she was a child, but none of those had been so carefully built and neatly tended. The demon beside her quickly grew impatient and grabbed her wrist, pulling her after him.

Kagome blushed. She'd forgotten for a second that they were trying to get out of this place. "Gomen, Sesshou-san, for wasting time." She whispered meekly.

Said youkai gave the Look and continued on, not bothering to release her. Kagome rolled her eyes and picked up the pace, more than a little eager to get out of here suddenly. He may show kindnesses sometimes, but he was still an egotistical bastard.

It came without surprise, really, when loud roaring was heard and large group of goblin soldiers rushed past them. Sesshoumaru paid them no attention what so ever, at least, not until he saw what the creatures had been running from.

A pack of phookas had decided to live amongst the hedges. Kagome backed up slowly, determined to get the hell out of there. No way was she going to be eaten by a phooka. They were evil to a fault and loved to dine on human flesh...

Sesshoumaru appeared rather indifferent by the whole thing, that is, until one of them made a lunge for Kagome.

Jareth had seen the problem and was there in an instant to solve it. This was his Labyrinth, and he was to protect it. Not to mention he'd get another up-close-and-personal encounter with the female called Kagome.

However, before any other reactions were given, the phooka lunged and Sesshoumaru struck, ending its life before Kagome had even registered that her she was in real danger.

Of course, this merely made Jareth mad. So he grabbed the human and disappeared. Sesshoumaru could smell the lingering scent of fae magic on the air, and growled deeply. There would be no escape for denying him the wench, Kagome. She was HIS, and that damn faery had just forfeited his life.

Kagome felt a head rush like no other and promptly fell on her rear when the Goblin King released her. When her head had stopped spinning, she looked up to see him sitting on his throne thing, and there were hundreds of little goblins poking and prodding at her. She was so irritated that she just screamed, and they all jumped and fled to the other side of the room.

If Kagome remembered her myths right, than it was safe to say the only person over 15 they had ever seen was their King, of course she would intrigue them.

She turned an angry glare to her 'captor'. He was smirking!

She was so pissed that she stomped right over to him and started yelling, most of it an incoherent rabble. The gist of it was an indignant cry against the way she was being treated.

She was silenced not long after her rabble began.

Jareth lazily pulled the girl up to sit practically on top of him, in which case she immediately became flustered. He took this opportunity to kiss her thoroughly, pleased when she didn't try to push him away. She was shy, but somewhat curious all the same. He deepened the kiss and she let him, wondering at her sudden submission.

This guy had kidnapped her, for kami's sake!

But even still, she couldn't bring herself to pull away, even when his hand came up and began to caress her thighs. She stopped him, however, when his hand moved up further. She might let him kiss her, but no way was she... sleeping with... um... him.

She was suddenly to close to his person, as she could feel him beneath her. Now very flustered and confused, Kagome pushed away and just stared at him. The rational part of her mind demanded she scream at him, how dare he touch her? But while she had not expected it, the feelings provoked were not all that unpleasant.

Sesshoumaru's face came unbidden to her mind's eye and Kagome frowned, turning away from the Goblin King and away from her rather unnerving thoughts. Why was everything always so damn embarrassing around here? Well, embarrassing and frustrating.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sesshoumaru found that his temper was quite helpful in these instances. He could imagine what the fae could be doing and it set his blood on fire. So when he came to two doors that incessantly argued (one with its mouth full with a door knocked and the other with the knocker in his ear) he immediately tore them both apart.

The door knockers complained very little as he strode past them, quickly coming to a clearing.

Out of nowhere some giant red fuzzy... things appeared and started removing their own heads. A song started and Sesshoumaru was now thoroughly weirded out.

Chilly down with the fire gang.

Think small with the fire gang (It's the only way).

Bad hep with the fire gang (a smile a day keeps the doctor away).

When your thing gets wild.

Chilly down.

Chilly down with the fire gang (Hey, I'm a wild child.

Act tall with the fire gang (whoo, walk tall).

Good times, bad food (yeah).

When your thing gets wild.

Chilly down, chilly down.

When the 'fire gang' members began removing their own hands, legs, ears and eyes and reattaching them, he was vaguely curious but mostly irritated. When the tried to stop his from continuing on, her was angry. And when they tried to remove him from his own person, Sesshoumaru had had enough.

With little effort he tore the group apart, but was startled when they continued talking. Deciding it was merely one of the many oddities of the Labyrinth, he continued on his way, pursued by shouts of:

"It's against the rules to through other people's heads."

"Ya, you can only trow (I'm misspelling that word on purpose) your own head."

"Maybe we should throw his head."

"Let's get him."

"Hey, why don't you take off your ears?"

"You don't need two ears!"

He finally escaped the wonders of the 'fire gang' only to be caught in another hazard.

The ground beneath him was suddenly gone, and he was sliding hazardously done a fairly short tunnel. At the end he slid and fell gracelessly onto a small patch of stone. And then the most terrible odor he had even been graced with hit him dead on.
