Changed with Her Song by LeSinner

I revised the entire fiction, I just didn’t like the way I wrote it – it seemed as if I patronized Kagome too much.

Sngoku Jidai

There were three companions standing near an old worn well. Two of these companions seem to were doing their best to calm their thrid companion, Inu-yasha. He was pacing back and forth, waiting impatiently for someone.

Finally, Inu-yasha couldn't stop himself. He was preparing to jump in the well when Sango called out.

" Stop! Inu-yasha! You're making a big mistake!" she yelled desperately.

This obviously caught the hanyou's attention because his body was suddenly stiff. He turned on his heel and glared at the young woman in front of him.

" What?!" he bit out harshly " And exactly WHAT will ‘my big mistake be’?!" yelled Inu-yasha.

'Stupid dog' Sango thought with annoyance.

A few days ago, 6 days and 12 hours, to be exact, there was a dispute between Kagome and Inu-yasha. Kagome as usual won the dispute and left very angry and upset. She specifically told Inu-yasha that she did not want to see him for 6 days. And that if ever he would even set a foot in the Higurashi territory while the 6 days were not yet over, she would definitely break his back bone.

Finally, the silent Miroku broke in.

" Inu-yasha, do you want your back to be broken? Get a hold of yourself! Kagome-sama is still, no doubt upset with you. If you were to break your agreement then she would be more upset!"

Inu-yasha obviously did not like what he heard. Agreement? What agreement?

" Excuse me? Feh! What the hell are you talking about? Exactly what are you two getting at?! And what fucking agreement are you talking about? How long can that girl take to get over herself?!"

Truth is, the 'agreement' was that Inu-yasha would not bother Kagome for 6 days flat. It was considered an agreement because, Inu-yasha did not have anything opposed to what she said.

He just thought that she was joking and that she couldn't do that to him. She needed him for the shards. And HE needed HER.

Unfortunately, she was dead serious. Her look, eyes, and voice said it all. Sango, at first was terrified at the look. It usually meant that something was coming. Rarely was Kagome seen to be so grave. It was in the best interest of Inu-yasha that he would keep to his part of the ‘agreement’.

Kagome threw threats of her sitting him and things of the like. So there it was, she sat him real hard (more than 5 times, which was the cause of the crater a few yards from where they now stood). He was half- conscious, and battered.

Kagome, at first felt a bit of guilt, but then it was immediately gone due to her excitement on the fact that she was finally coming home. Before she left, she picked up her big yellow bag and whispered to Sango and Miroku in a seriously severe tone

"Watch him. I've got important things to attend to. Make sure he doesn't cross over time and space just to piss me off. If he tries anything stupid, specifically getting or even inching nearer to the well, knock him out."

The other two were just staring at her. She sounded very strange, her eyes so determined, her voice firm and steely, her face- bordering to emotionless.

Then right after that thought flittered, she sighed and smiled a tired smile.

Then in an equally sad voice, "You know", she said "all these things really tire me out. See you in 6 days! Bye."

Then she jumped over the well and left to the other side.

Meanwhile, Miroku and Sango were rather astounded at the sudden change of Kagome's mood.

Then almost immediately, they shrugged it off and headed to the village with a half-conscious hanyou in their arms.

You see, that's what happened 6 days ago. Inu-yasha might say: I don't care. She can't do that to me. But in truth, deep inside, he had his doubts. After all, this girl was no ordinary girl.

Miroku was about to snap a reply when suddenly, the well glowed and out popped a raven-haired head. Followed by a face, a very cheerful and happy face.

Kagome.

Inu-yasha whirled on his heels and turned to face Kagome, but the thing is, she wasn't there, she was with Miroku and Sango and a popped-out Shippou.

"Hello minna-san! How are you all today?!"

The reaction of the gang was to first stare at her.

She was wearing a street fighter's outfit. Fitting black sleeveless shirt and black loose pants, with a red belt. Her hair was tied up in Sango's exterminator hair-do, and wrapped around her hands, or rather, fists, were black bandages, something which looked liked was used for boxing.

Her body was heavily accentuated. People knew she was a slim girl, but it looked like she had not much of a figure because her uniform fluffed her up. But with this outfit, you could see or actually make-out the toned muscles on her belly, and her legs, though in a loose garment, accentuated her hips. Not only did she look like a street fighter, but also like a very strong warrior trained for the best, to do the best.

Sango was the first to recover. "Wow, Kagome! I like your new look."

Kagome smiled and was about to reply when Miroku cut in and said in a too innocent voice: "Yes. Me too. Are you going to where this from now on? You look good in it. Really. You look-" *whack*

Sango smiled at this, then laughed hardly. "You know", she said in between giggles "you DO look better in that. Like it."

Kagome smiled a warm one. "Thank-you." then she noticed that Miroku was getting up again. "Oh, Miroku, you could've just said that I looked good in this outfit, that way you could avoid bumps, but you really didn't have to grope me."

Meanwhile, in the background was Inu-yasha, trying to say something but the other's spoke before he could even say something. He started to loose his patience. When he had enough of this "ignoring-the-hanyou-trick", he shouted, loud, real loud. Even the birds had to fly because of the outburst.

They were rather fazed by the extremely loud outburst, all except one: Kagome.

The other's eyes went wary and instantly alarmed when they heard Inu-yasha and saw steam rising from his ears. Kagome, on the other hand, was raising an eyebrow and keeping it raised there.

Inu-yasha's face went red and even redder with each passing moment. You could've mistaken this as embarrassment. Unfortunately, this certain loud-mouthed creature from hell knows no freakin shame.

Inu-yasha was about to say something along the lines of "not minding him and who the hell these humans think they were", when all of a sudden, he got a good look at Kagome.

His eyes definitely went big. His mouth was agape and he looked like he was seeing Naraku was dancing the Hawaiian hula. It was such a surprise. Then out of nowhere, he frowned.

"And what do you think you're wearing?" for his tastes, this certain outfit showed too much cleavage.

Now it was Kagome's turn to frown, in confusion. Then in a sudden burst of anger.

"What?! Now I'm not allowed to wear what I want? For cripe's sake! It's just something which would allow me to move better compared to my school uniform. So what's wrong now?" she half-yelled.

Inu-yasha looked like he was about to say something but he all of a sudden changed his mind. It was a gust of wind. And Inu-yasha sniffed and broke in a run toward the source or the direction the wind came from. But not before uttering a single name

"Kikyou".

Everyone heard what he said. All eyes turned to Kagome. She was watching Inu-yasha leave, with a rather bored expression. Everyone seemed confused at this show of boredom. You could just say that they expected her to look sad and be depressed and say "Let's leave them alone, wait for them to come back" or something of the sort. But what she said was nothing like it, nor her reaction and neither was the way she said it.

"C'mon, guys. We had better watch out for him. Who knows. Kikyou might have another trap for Inu." Her voice was drenched in exasperation and boredom.

It was not sad, not depressed, and neither was it something personal, and she casually called Inu-yasha INU.

By now, everyone was thinking of what could have happened to Kagome in the past few days, past few 6 days. Just 6 days and she's changed. Not even a week!

But in truth, it was just 6 days for them. To Kagome, However, it was 6 months.

On the day that Kagome left, earlier that day, she went to an old miko library. It held all sorts of spells and all sorts of talismans. It just so happened that while she was skimming through things, she saw a certain spell. A spell that can change or lengthen, fasten, slow, and even hold time. It had to be in 2 different environment, or in this case, worlds.

Upon seeing this spell, she was determined to use it. So she did. She wanted to be a better fighter, miko, student, and she also wanted to have control over her emotions. She wanted to have full control over, that way it wouldn't get in her way in hunting the shards. This way, she can even help in the ass whooping.

So as you see, when arriving in her time, she immediately converted the time. 1 day=1 month.

There, in her time, she met her uncle, who specialized in controlling chi. Not only that but how to use this chi as energy and as powers for defense, offence, and agility, three of some of the most vital things in battle. Her uncle knew everything about her time travelling. So he decided to help.

But unfortunately, he needed more time. He asked Kagome how much time she has to spare. Her answer was 6 months. 'Darn' he thought. They needed more time. Then that's when Kagome introduced the spell to her uncle. So here was the deal.

She would cast the spell in the Higurashi place. In tokyo, one minute would be a day in the Higurashi grounds. Simply like this.

In their home, 1 minute in Tokyo, was immediately a day. For example, outside their home, it was 3:45, April 28. When you enter their home, you might even spend a day there, but immediately when you step out of their home, or rather, territory, it would be 3:46, April 28. Understand?

So if in six months, there are 180 days, and in one day, there are 1440 minutes, multiply 1440 x 180, just how much time does Kagome have for her training? 259200 minutes! Now divide that by 30. Ugh.. Forget it. You just do the math.

Her stay in the Higurashi residence was almost 3 years, while in the present time, a.k.a. Kagome's time was 6 months, while in Sengoku-Jidai, it was a measly 6 days. Imagine what Kagome's been through. Everyone knows that even only 1 month can change you. Well, this certain training most certainly changed her.

She was wiser, more stable, more intuitive, more guts, more understanding. Her mind was very aware and open. And now, she was also a mood swinger.

At times, she can be so strong, then so frail. So hyper, then so I'm-not-in- the-mood. So cheerful, then so gloomy. So serious, then so laid-back. She never had a permanent personality. Sometimes, she can even be the "good bad-guy".

Anyway, they finally arrived at the place where Inu-yasha and Kikyou were.

Only Miroku and Sango were riding Kirara, plus Shippou.

And Kagome? She was nowhere to be seen.

She was up there, on the trees. She was leaping from branch to branch. It took awhile for Kagome to convince the other three that she was fine. Everything was fine to her eyes.

Yeah right. She can run just as fast as a youkai, and she can even read thoughts.

And as they near the clearing, they could see the two.

Oblivious to the presence of the three. They were sharing a hug. Least to say, Kagome's chest contracted and her heart pounded upon seeing this, you could see the pain in her eyes. Then all of a sudden as fast as the pain appeared, she frowned then her face was back to it's self. Not emotionless, but also not full of emotion neither. Just plain what-the-hell-are-they-doing look, with both eyebrows raised.

Sango and Miroku turned to look at Kagome. Another surprise. She doesn't even look the least bit agonized. Shippou, all the while, didn't bother to even look.

He was just about to stomp in the clearing shouting things like, how could Inu-yasha have betrayed Kagome's love, and all that.

Inu-yasha heard the rustling in the bushes and saw Shippou… and Kagome.

"Inu-yash-!" Shippou started but was abruptly cut off by Kagome.

Shippou started at the way Kagome looked at Shippou and at the look of her eyes. It said something like: 'Don't disturb them. They need their privacy'.

Shippou just looked confused. Then Kagome talked. "What do you think you are doing? Shippou, it's not right to invade someone else's privacy" her voice sounded so reprimanding. She didn't sound jealous or hurt at all.

"But-Kagome", he retorted "he's-he's with Kikyou! I thought you liked him." he said in an ashamed tone. Kagome just smiled. Then in a voice without any regret or even a hint of sadness,

"I use to. And besides, the human heart, also the human emotions are a fickle thing. Oh, and for starters, it was his choice and he was never really 'mine' to begin with. Don't you think?"

All the onlookers were shocked; she had gotten over Inu-yasha, doesn't want him anymore and doesn't even care! But to Inu-yasha it was all: 'She doesn't love me anymore; more or less, doesn't even care about Kikyou. Why?'

Truth is, Inu-yasha enjoyed the presence of the two women of his life. He wanted to have them both. He never thought that she would lose interest on him. He wanted them both.

All the while this was happening, a certain dead corpse was suspiciously raising a very sharp dagger in a position suspiciously directly behind Inu- yasha's back.

To be continued.
