I'm into plausible, welll-written, well-characterized fanfiction. As long as the above conditions are met, I don't really care about pairings all that much - I have a few favorites, but I'm not going to run about the internet screaming about OTPs. This is a pairing-specific site, so there's no fear of flame wars over that sort of thing, fortunately. That said, I enjoy many other pairings involving Sesshoumaru and Kagome.

I have several fanfiction pet peeves. Fangirl Japanese is an abomination unto the earth, and if I could hurl lightning bolts I would strike down all who use it. They never use it properly, anyway. If you wanna write in Japanese, ditch the godawful romanizations and write IN JAPANESE. You know, with kanji and kana and sentence particles and in-group/out-group and gendered inflections and proper conjugation. If you can't do that, step away from the language.

Bad characterization makes me cringe. Kagome is not WonderWoman, and Sesshoumaru is not a drooling pervert.

Kagome doesn't pass all of her tests, and those she does pass she makes by a small margin - she's not going to have a strong grasp on the minor details of history. Yeah, she knows who Oda Nobunaga is; so does every 10-year-old in Japan. But I don't think she's going to know all that much about the Shimabara Uprising, or the Satsuma Rebellion, or the Shindatsu uprising, or the horrific tortures enacted by the Tokugawa regime. She's working off of Japanese high school text books, which aren't known for their accuracy or balance. They're known for being nationalistic propaganda, much like American text books. So all of these fics where Kagome knows everything about what's going to happen? Bullshit. Unless she goes back to her time and does some hardcore research with real books, she doesn't know that much.

Other than incredibly obvious things like spelling and grammar, that's a fair summary of the things I dislike in fanfiction.
