The ancient Egyptians believed that for someone's name to be remembered was a form of immortality - so long as one's name lived on in some form, that person would live forever. That's why they plastered their pharoah's names all over the place and built pyramids... to achieve immortality.

I'm a bit of an Egypt freak and this story reminded me of that by the time I'd gotten to the end of it... it was poignant and beautiful: somewhat sad but also incredibly touching in that her gravesite had been covered in growth and seemingly forgotten - but seemed to me that in describing Sesshomaru's immortality it reflected Kagome's for him, as well.

Very short, but meaningful and absolutely wonderful. Would have loved to have seen it go on - possibly for Kagome to have been reincarnated as she was the reincarnation of Kikyo and somehow meet Sesshomaru again... maybe unbeknownst to him and they wind up going through the whole "Sesshy hates humans, has a clouded past... and an heir... too stubborn to love anyone else but is drawn to her" spiel... *hint hint* *wink*

But it serves wonderfully as a one shot as well. Very good job!

Great story, so what happened to his heir?

This is one of the most well written one shots I have read in a long time. I love the fact that you gave Sesshoumaru emotion yet kept it true to his character. Great story.

this story is so very sad. poor kagome and ssshomaru, they had feelings for each other but never admitted it.

Poignant and almost too painful to review and yet I do. I cannot help but almost come away with the feeling of thwartedness for Sesshoumaru. Thanks for allowing..the feeling.

An unusual title but the story had a beautiful ending. Though wouldn't Kagome feel guilty?
Still loved it.

Hi, I'm a fellow author on a single spark. That was a very touching story you wrote, but it's one of those stories that you don't feel the need to cry. It gives a very strange and mixed emotion/ sensation within you that you know some how that things turned out for the better....However, I never really liked stories in which Kagome has to die, so I humbly ask you to make a chapter story, canon, in which Kagome does not die, for I can't bare to see Sesshoumaru so...lonely, I mean considering the past he's had already shown in the anime, it just doesn't seem fair for him to be lonely and loveless. I know he's just a character from an anime series, but I can't bare to see anyone down, whether they are real or not, it doesn't matter to me....So, the next story you write has to have a happy ending!!! Please?
