Actually, I think I already explained this or I might have missed it, but Gin IS a half-blood. He comes from a Silver Fox Clan that, as you stated, prides itself on its purity as the silver foxes as rare. However, his mother was mix, half-red and half-silver which is what led to her being something of an outcast and Gin's existence possible. Gin's mother was youkai and his father was human so while he is a half-blood, he more youkai than human I suppose you could say.
