My attempt at SugarOo's 'Feathers'.
Sorry for the crop but to color it with chalk pastels I had to print it and my printer would not print the entire thing sadly.
I feel pretty happy with this considering my last art teacher told me to stick with pencil and never ever touch color again. However for the sake of fun/frustration I'm playing with it in paint.

Your teacher must be on something we don't know about because obviously... not thinking too clearly.
I really think this is good:) the only suggestion I would make is to use a felt blending stump to blend out any harsh lines. A tortillon would work too, but a good blending stump is your best friend with pastels!
