Looking at her rose gold watch Nova glared at the time. It seemed as time refused to cooperate with her and move to the next minute. Narrowing her blue eyes she looked around at the small office. The plain cream walls were dull but the beautiful exposed mahogany beams created an intimate space. The room was furnished with two matching black chesterfield button leather couches fashioned with large rounded arm and a traditional red oriental rug that gave the room an aristocratic but modern flair. Nova second guessed her choice of this particular room. This was to be her biggest job yet, a biographer for a youkai. Not just any youkai, but an inuyoukai. Peaking down at the roman numerals on her Rolex Nova sat down on the jet black couch and decided to go over her notes. This particular youkai lord was full of prestige. He served in every major war since the Feudal Era. He was also a philanthropist and katana collector.  Nova eyed the file on her client and smiled thinking ‘This is going to make my career’.

*DING ELEVATOR DOORS OPEN INTO THE OFFICE ROOM*

Collecting herself, Nova stood ready to greet her client, the debonair, Sesshoumaru Takahashi. Taking a bow Nova introduces herself.

“Hello Takahashi-sama, my name is Nova and I will be your biographer today. I am interested in your long and prosperous life.” Lifting her head up, she smiles brightly, to the tall figure in front of her. Never in her life has she seen a youkai in the flesh without a protector spell hiding their appearance. He was extremely tall with a god-like aura. Her eyes gazed up like giddy school girl at Sesshoumaru’s navy suit, his pale yellow shirt with a blue crescent moon on the collar that matched the one on his forehead. His odd choice in a white, red and blue swirled tie and pocket square showed he had a slight flare for fashion or he paid a well-trained stylist to make him look perfect daily. Nova couldn’t get past the fact that this youkai, with pale yet pearlescent skin,  a blue crescent moon, two magenta stripes kissing both cheeks and a slight blood red stripe on each eyelid, looked no older than a man in his late teens or early twenties but was well over five centuries old. His silver hair flowed down to his calves into a single braid. Remembering her manners she motioned for him to have a seat and continues with the pleasantries.

“Many already know about your history with your half-brother Inuyasha and his followers in their mission to restore the Sacred Jewel. However, what I would love to know is, are there any stories about your life that we don’t know? Something more…private?” she says as Sesshoumaru walks over to the window.

“Please Nova just call me Sesshoumaru,” the golden eyed youkai said with his deep baritone voice. He glanced around enjoying the simplistic room this woman chose. His last biographer was extremely flamboyant and enjoyed bright imposing colors. This room was calm and classic. The tall rectangular windows gave the perfect view of downtown Baltimore and the harbor.  Staring out at the USS Constellation, the oni lord starts his story ignoring Nova and her silent invitation to take a seat.

“There is one story that I have not shared, one of love and loss. Many believe that this Sesshoumaru is cold hearted and has never loved.  There is no way one can live as long as I have and never find his one true love. Though, love came at the most inopportune time, it found me and I lost it…I lost her.”

Nova sits and turns on the recorder *CLICK*. She starts taking notes of the tone of the oni’s voice as he goes deep into his past.

*FLASHBACK INTO EGYPT*

The battle raged on into the cold desert night. Swords crashing against each other filled the midnight air. Fire raged in the temple of Anubis destroying all holy parcels as the priest and priestess were slain. The rush to protect the royal family proved to be futile. All twenty young inu princes and princesses lay in their sleeping quarters, slaughtered in cold blood. The concubines and loyal servants were poisoned so that there was no link of the treason to the royal guards. Revolution and riots sprung up all around the capitol of Egypt. The African-Inuyoukai was being overturned by the panther tribe of Nubia. They wanted to rule Egypt and purge the land of all Inuyoukai.

“Your highnesses, we must make haste. The boat is leaving.” InuAkin said as he led the remainder of the royal family to safety. InuAkin, the lead advisor to the pharaoh as well as the last loyal royal guard to Queen InuAsantewa, lived up to his name as a warrior. His ebony black skin and hair was the perfect camouflage to the night sky. The tall youkai's brown eyes glowed green at the intrusion of light coming from the fires. His Doberman pinscher face and humanoid body looked like Anubis the Lord of the underworld himself. His gold and blue helmet and golden breast plate armor shined beneath the blood moon. The white cloth that wrapped around his waist whispered as his clawed bare feet ran faster. The twitching of his muscles at each loud sound showed its alertness. ‘Save the royal family!’ his inner beast commanded. The golden shield he held over his and the princess' head to protect them from any falling debris and projectiles.

“InuAkin take InuYaa to the boat. We will stay and fight. I refuse to cower to this vermin.” InuJaja commanded. As the pharaoh of Egypt he must fight. He and his warrior queen knew that this day would come. There were rumors of the panther tribe of Nubia’s schemes but the traitorous advisors told the pharaoh not to worry. King InuJaja also resembled a Doberman pinscher but with large jackal ears. His tall slim frame hid his power. The only thing that set the pharaoh apart from the guards was his royal clothing. His blue and gold headpiece had a gold cobra on the front of his forehead. The bright gold, red and blue armor crisscrossed his chest. Two gold and blue arm bands covered both biceps. Opaque white pleated cloth and a colorful golden belt was draped around his waist.

“King InuJaja I refuse. I will die by your hands before I allow any harm to befall you. Let us go.” InuAkin said angered by the treason. The royal guard only job was to protect the King and Queen, however, power hungry and greedy guards sought to overthrow the longest surviving dynasty in Inu-Egyptian history.  For thousands of years the African-Inu ruled proudly and justly. InuAkin and his people were protected and prospered under the rule of InuAkin and his Queen InuAsantewa.  Now it was all crumbling around them. There was no time to be nostalgic; his job was to get his charges to safety and to defend the realm.

All four youkai, the royal guard InuAkin, Pharoah InuJaja, warrior Queen InuAsantewa and the only surviving princess InuYaa  ran with all their might to the boat docked at the Nile. Once there, they went below deck and set sail to Japan. There were very few Inuyoukai powerful enough to aid them in battling the panther tribe. Only one demon could, and that was Lord Sesshoumaru.

“Tell me husband, why are we going to Japan? Are you certain that he will aid us?” Queen InuAsantewa asked. The beautiful queen was a warrior but did not enjoy running in her gold pleated gown, collar adorned with rare jewels and cape. Her tall golden crown was a heavy, but necessary accessory that encased her braided brown tresses. InuAsantewas’ beauty rivaled Queen Makeda, the historic queen of Sheba who stole King Solomon's heart so much so that he wrote a complete song in the Bible about her. Unlike the male African-Inuyoukai, the females had a complete humanoid appearance. Her dark bronze scarred skin and hardened brown eyes that allowed her warrior spirit shine through was all her enemies needed to see to know she was a fierce warrior. Her contrasting gentle smile and warm demeanor made her regal in every way. Her full rosy lips could damn or save a life with just a word. Confidence radiated in her aura, InuAsantewa was a proud African-Inu queen, there was no doubting that.

“Love, we can only hope at this point that Lord Sesshoumaru is honorable and loyal to the Inuyoukai. I just pray to Ra that InuYaa won't have our heads for offering her to him,” the pharaoh said looking over the sleeping form of his daughter.

InuYaa, the only biological daughter of Queen InuAsantewa, is the most beautiful youkai in Africa. Creamy toffee skin, long elegant neck, almond shaped eyes and plump lips made human as well as youkai males fall to their knees. The nearly sheer linen fabric flowed over her curves. The teal and golden striped collar held up the white gown as a sheer red cape draped her shoulders. Her eyes, unlike her parents, were grey-silver like her grandparents. The heavy eyeliner and red eye shadow drew attention to them. Long flowing silver hair, also inherited from her grandparents, was worn in small braids that cascaded down her back. The sheer gown clung to her Nile-like voluptuous body. Two slits on each side revealed her strong smooth legs. InuYaa’s round buttocks was perfectly shaped like an onion and inviting to the eyes. Her body flowed from her seductive eyes to her juicy lips down to her long neck to her plump breast. Next was her flat stomach around her hour glass shape. Last her long legs to her perfect feet and golden clawed toes.

Tired from the long exodus, she slept peacefully under the watchful eyes of her parents. Her dreams took her back to a time of peace in Egypt. She stood proudly in her golden form fitting sparring outfit. Her father trained her with two scimitars, Ankue, the goddess of war and Khonsu, the god of the moon. She dreamed of being a formidable warrior queen like her mother. She practiced her kata's gracefully with her father.

In her dream, her father spoke to her. “InuYaa you are growing stronger. Come daughter, let us spar.” InuJaja suggested. He stood poised to attack in red with Shu, his doubled-edge battle axe named after the god of air. InuYaa stood with her right hand above her head and her left hand at her side while InuJaja stood with his battle axe low and open for her attack. Both waiting for an opening, they stalked each other slowly. She blinked and he attacked. He swung around in a circle with his axe rotating fluidly with him. She flipped out of the way and lands crouching low. InuJaja's axe swung until he stopped and rested it on his shoulder. InuYaa began to stalk him again. He swings low and she jumps onto the swinging axe running up the handle and uses her scimitar as scissors at her father’s head just missing his long jackal ears. At the last second he threw her up against the wall with a sly smirk before stepping back.  InuJaja began to twirl his axe above his head keeping a steady eye on her movements while sensing her frustration.

They commenced lessons for hours. Their movements were so fast, all that was seen were blurs of red and gold as they struck each other’s weapons. The last attack InuYaa attempted in cutting her father down with a low kick to the chest. InuJaja countered her move by grabbing her by the neck and throwing her against the wall and his axe pinned her.

“All right InuYaa you have done well. Next time do not get over zealous,” InuJaja advised. He reached over and picked her up. “Go tend to your wounds and meet with your mother for supper.”

While InuYaa slept, the boat sailed up from the Nile to the Red Sea going out towards the Arabian Sea. They traveled towards the Indian Ocean in four days under their youkai rowing navy and the last of their loyal guard. During the trip, Pharaoh InuJaja and Queen InuAsantewa were planning on exactly how they were going to ask Lord Sesshoumaru to help them win back the Inu Egyptian tribe from their enemies. Reading through old summons to Japan InuAkin finds a sealed letter from the Japanese Inu council. Handing it over to the queen, he watches as she cracks the seal and reads with astonishment. InuAsantewa hands the letter back to InuAkin.

“My king and my love, word is that the council has made a decree for Lord Sesshoumaru of the Western Lands to find a mate within four moons. We are giving him the gift of our InuYaa. Seems as the Gods are on our side this night!” the queen seals her announcement with a kiss on the worried face of the pharaoh.

“Yes we are, but still there is no guarantee that he will help us or take InuYaa as his mate. All we can do is pray.” InuJaja replies pulling his queen close to him while looking out at the black sea.
