Chapter 1

Inuyasha belongs to  Rumiko Takahashi, along with the characters. Although, the plot was of my doing. I hope you like my story, even though I'm not a great writer. Please if you will give me constructive criticism, that would be amazing. Enjoy

It was that time of summer again, when people lose weight, and get started on their tans. Although, I was doing the same, I wasn't necessarily going to the beach and doing crazy diets, no I was conditioning. For what, one may ask and that's because Cross Country was starting. Heck yea!! 

Well, my name is Kagome Higurashi,  I'm currently going to be a junior in high school, along with my best friends: Sango, Abi and Yura (twins), Ayame, and Kagura. Who I have known since elementary school, even though we didn't see each other eye to eye, until middle school. Now, here we are about to start our junior year.

Now here I am in front of our high school, Yamagata High School, along with: Abi, Yura, Kagura, and Ayame. They like running just as much as I do. As we were waiting on our coach to arrive, Coach Totosai, the rest of the team started to arrive. The Cross Country team was more like family than anything else; Jakostsu, Hojo, Miroku, Kaguya, Kouga, Renkotsu, Toran, and of course Yura, Abi, Kagura, and Ayame. Those were the people I was closest to, I was close to the whole team and I love them, but I've known the group longer and trust them a lot more too.

Once coach got here, along with the rest of the team, we started our stretches. The captains led our stretches, which was Miroku and Kaguya, since they are seniors this year. Once we were gone doing our calf stretches they told us what route to take.  Some of us took the shorter run, which was the JV run, while the rest of us ran a mile longer trail, which was the Varsity run. As the group and I started to run I put on my armband for my phone and plugged in my headphones. 

We didn't really talk on runs unless it was necessary. We just focused on our form and controlled breathing. We were half way through the run and the song Bulletproof Love by Pierce the Veil came on. As I was hearing it I felt what Vic was feeling. I was the guy and... HE was the girl in this situation. I wouldn't go as far as self harm, but the song really hit home for me. The song changed and I kept thinking about HIM, Sesshomaru.

We had started talking when I was just an 8th grader, and he a 10th grader. I was at my best guy friends house Inuyasha, and he left to go get us chips at the gas station 2 blocks away. He left me saying it was cold and I'd catch a cold so I stayed, him being half demon and all made it hardly possible for him to get sick. Back to the point, I had gotten thirsty and decided to go to the kitchen for some lemonade. 

I got on top of the counter to get the cups that were on the top shelf and my foot slipped due to water being on the counter. I was just waiting for the impact to come, to see blood, or feel pain, but nothing came so when I opened my eyes an I was instantly mesmerized by a pair of amber eyes that looked like a storm that was happening in the sun. Accompanied by his silky silver hair that I was dieing to touch, an aristocratic nose, chiseled face, and his marking made him look like he belonged in a story, he was enchanting.

"Girl, what are you doing in this ones home", he asked in a cold voice. Which instantly brought me out of my trance.

"Umm... Inuyasha invited me over to do homework and watch movies, but he left to get us chips at the gas station", I replied hesitantly.  

He studied my face almost looking for a fault in my explanation. He set me down when he decided that the answer was truthful. He then handed me my cup and was about to turn to leave, when I stopped him.

"I'm sorry, but I don't know your name", I said as he was about to leave the kitchen. He stayed quiet, so I had broke the silence with, "my name is Kagome and I would like to thank you from my foreseeable doom", I said with the utmost sophistication and slight teasing tone. He just smirked and bowed, saying " Sesshomaru", mimicking my tone, which caused me to smile.

"Would you sir, do me the honor of accompanying me for a glass of some fine lemon juice", I asked teasingly and he just full on smiled, fangs and all and nodded grabbing a glass for himself. I don't know why, but I felt like I could be myself around him. From that point on we got along. Even though he still had a guarded look in his eyes and form.

I stopped from reminiscing any further, and opening up wounds that weren't fully healed. We reached the school and received our times, which if I say so myself, it was amazing I did 3 miles in 19:49. When we were done receiving our times, I grabbed an ice cold water bottle and chugged it all. I was waiting for the girls to get their times and head to to the showers.

When we were in the changing room the girls started to talk about an upcoming meet and Yasha's summer bash as he called it. I was still putting on my jeans when they started talking about who they would take, when they started to talk about my no existent love life.

"So who are you going to take Kagome", asked Kagura with a flirty smile.

"Well me, myself, and I. Duhh", I said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Hey, how about Kris", asked Ayame with a mischievous smile showing her canines. 

'I barely remembered about him', I thought. Kris was a guy that I met in a party, and we really hit it off. He was 5'10 with an athletic build, light brown eyes, curly hair, drop dead gorgeous smile, and not to mention we are both on the cross country and track team in our schools. He had asked me on a date, but I always said no. 

However, now I felt ready to go out there and try.

"Alright I'll call him tonight", I said with a light blush and smile, but determined. 

Putting my flip flops on on and grabbing my Nike gym bag, we headed to my car. Well more like my baby it was a 1977 Chevy Malibu that was only 3000 dollars!! Score!! 

I dropped everybody one by one each one of them winking and sending me kissy faces, to remind me to call.

'God, my friends are crazy bitches', I thought with a laugh. 

Well this is my first chapter, I hope you all like it! The song I give all the credit to PTV. The Nike gym bag is Nikes. Lastly all characters belong to Rumiko Takahashi. I would like to apologize for punctuation, I really suck
