      Running off towards a nearby forest, Kaede called out to me with a worried expression. "Don't wonder off so deeply into the forest child!" her voice echoed in the distance. I continued to run with a hop to my step. Smiling I waved her off without stopping, "Don't worry Kaede. I was trained to at least ward off demons." Kaede just sighed shaking her head, as she walked back towards the village. Entering into the forest, my pace slowed as I took in the nature around me. Breathing in, the aroma the plants were giving off. Was very comforting. Looking around carefully, I tried to find the list of herds Kaede asked for. Pushing back some plants and climbing over a few tree stumps. I was able to find a few she requested. Learning about herds weren't so hard. Finding them in such a large range, was like playing find the needle in a hay stack. Even so, being young and small has its worth. With my good sight and short height; Kaede relies on me to find and collect herds. Through it wasn't so easy for her to make that decision. I had to convince her that it was our best option.

      You see, Kaede is very concerned about my safety. Although this forest dosen't hold great and dangerous demons on a daily bases. My life is constantly in danger, because within me holds something every demon (and even some humans) want to obtain. The Shikon Jewel Shard. The Gods "blessed" me with the Sacred Jewel, and embeded within me since birth. Once i've breath earth's air, my life has been on the line. Up until I was 5, priestess Kaede took on the responsibility to protect me from harms way. From there, she has been teaching me the ways of a miko. To make me as great as Kikyo. Kaede's late older sister. I've heard many stories of her. How she was the most beautiful and wise miko within the village. The endless tells of their traveling together when she was younger. Also how her life came to a tragic end. Over something as precious as the Sacred Jewel Shard. I don't want to let Kikyo's life go in vein.

      My legs came to a stop as I placed my hand on the left side of my stomach. Where I could strongly feel the Jewel Shard's presence. Having the shard within my body, I could feel the effectiveness it has on me. Its power beckoning me to use it. With will power, i'm able to deflect its power from running course through my vains. Not only do I want to be able to survive with my own powers. The Jewel Shard can cause me to become miserable in the long run. I guess demons aren't the only thing out there that's threatening my life. Sighing I let my hand fall to my side. As I continued to walk through the forest, I saw a light constantly glistening at the corner of my eye. Curious to what it might be, I crossed over a tree stump and pushed a tree branch slightly to its right.

      Trying to adjust my eyes to the sunlight. I viewed a man with long silver hair stand in a small clearing. In his hand he held a sword high. It seems like all his attention was focused on the sword, as he stared deeply at it. He looked to be a demon, so I tried to be very still. That way he won't sence my presence. And since all his attention was toward his sword, my chances of being detected was slim. I know I should be slowly backing away, but once I got a glimpse of his face. I couldn't move an inch. Although he looked displeased at what he was looking at. His beauty out shined the crease in his eyebrows. Even without the markings on his face, he was exquiste. Watching him, I noticed out the corner of my eye. A small rabbit hopping towards him.

      'Oh, it's a rabbit.' I thought as my head tilted to the side in questioning. How would he respond.

      I can't move past my father's decision to leave me with this sword. Staring at Tenseiga, I couldn't help but snarl at it. Why would father leave me with this useless peice of steel? Letting a small sigh excape, I took my eyes off to notice what was approaching my foot. Glaring down at the rabbit, my unreadable mask crept back onto my face. Without a second thought, I swinged my sword down in a quick motion. Only a abrupt eye could have seen my sword slice into the hare. The rabbit became stiff before falling into two peices. I watch the small animal body twitch once it was split in half. Suddenly a small light started to shine at where it was chopped. Once the light disappeared the rabbit opened it eyes. Standing on all fours, it scurried away into the bushed. 'Hn. Useless.' I thought as I placed the sword back into its sheaf.

      "Amazing." my ear twitched to the small voice behind me. Turning towards a pile of tree branches hugged together "Show yourself." I commanded. After waiting a few minutes I saw a little girl with long black hair step into the clearing.

      She was wearing a priestess dress and holding a wool basket, the smell of different herds coming from it. I could sence something off about her. Yet she looked to be an ordinary little girl. I watched as her fingers fidget while she stared down at her feet. Was she trying that hard not to panic. Having no interest in being around a human, I looked away and began to walk.

      "Th-that thing you did with your sword. What magic do you possess?" my body paused by her question.

      Frowning slightly and narrowed my eyes at her "I willed no such thing." I continued to walk away. Until I felt a tug on my sleeve. Tilting my head to the side, I saw her smiling up at me.

      "Whatever it may be, please come by to my village. With such ability, you can heal many that are sick or injured!" her blue eyes held on to determination. 'What is wrong with this human?'.

      My hand tighten around the white fabric. I know I shouldn't be making contact with a demon. That I should be running away, happy that he spared my life. After witnessing such an amazing thing he did. All I could think about was how much it would benefit my village. Hoping I didn't give out the sense of fear, I stared into his eyes. Before I could react, my grip on him was lost. And his sword was drawn to rest next to my neck. Shocked by how sudden it was, I stood completely still.

      'Such speed.' ran across my mind. Unable to move an inch, I just stared into his golden orbs.

      "Since you are so amazed by such things. I'm sure you couldn't mind experiencing it yourself." I could feel the sharpness of the cold blade slightly cut into the side of my neck.

      I wasn't scared, because I knew of what the sword could do. I did feel uneasiness from the demon standing in front of me. I felt like he really wished this sword could kill me. Closing my eyes I felt a little light headed. When did I stop breathing? The next thing I knew, a gust of wind ran across my face. Opening my eyes, there was no white haired demon. Raising my hand to the place his sword cut me. There was no damage left behind. Obviously he could have killed me without the use of his sword. A good demon?

      'Maybe. I highly doubt it by the stare contest we were having.' Exhaling I picked up the wool basket and headed back home. Lost in thought, I realize something and made a small whine. "I forgot to ask his name..." I muttered.

To Be Continued-->

A/N: I hope you guys liked this very long prologue. It took me a while to come up with the story, because I wanted everything to make since. And since I don't know every little thing about InuYasha (Even though I watched the whole first series at least 3 times growing up.) I didn't know things like all of Kagome's abilities and etc. Btw I wasn't able to watch InuYasha: The Final Act yet, so I wasn't sure if I was missing anything new of the characters. Thank kami for InuYasha Wikia XD. Look forward to more, as it will get better. Btw I'm sorry for any missed spelled words or bad gammar haha
