Hypnotic

    Hesitant and unsure, Kagome slowly followed the two ethereal beings before her, eyes trained on them more so than her own environment.

    She had no idea what to expect from either of them. Or in truth, what to expect from herself. Even now she could hear each beat of their hearts, could feel her own blood thrumming hypnotically in a way that tantalized her senses. It overwhelmed her again for a moment and her eyes closed as she began to give in…

    A snapping of a clashing aura against hers drew her attention swiftly and her breath caught in her lungs.

    “I’m sorry!” she quickly apologized, afraid to make any wrong moves with the Inu lord. “I’m sorry!”

    He was half turned in her direction and she could feel his irritation in the air.

    His expression was placid, but she could see his anger in his eyes and it worried her.

    The younger of the two made to step closer, but his father rumbled in warning and he stopped. His face was much easier to read and she was almost grateful for it.

    She could see that he was unsure but curious, still fearful and untrusting.

    He had every reason to be…

    She’d almost killed him, and now her fate was in the hands of his murderous father.

    She had no idea what Sesshomaru intended to do with her, and she was scared as hell to find out, but she wouldn’t fight him on it. She had no right to. She knew that. She accepted that. She only prayed that he wouldn’t draw it out.

    And on that same note of dread, she prayed that she could resist the hypnotic temptation laced in her veins to devour those nearest to her…
