“I learned well too, the meaning of another proverb...” Kagome began, after a brief pause for breath.
“There were those here who thought to challenge my strength.” She went on.
“Foolishly thinking me naught more than a mere miko...” Kagome's words became hard as steel when she continued.
“Much as you yourself had forgotten, Sesshomaru, koi...” And there Kagome paused, with cobalt fire still in her eyes.
“A mistake I shall not make again.” Sesshomaru interjected.
“Nor will they, as the saying goes, “If you live on the river, befriend the crocodile.” Kagome finished.
