Her footsteps echoed in her mind as she stomped toward the daiyoukai. His attitude was completely out of order and it needed a serious makeover. It didn't matter if he didn't think he had done anything wrong- and she could understand that perhaps she was going too far since he hadn't shown any desire to change or agreed to it- but to be mean to Rin? That pompous asshole was going down. 

Reaching him, the miko proceeded to eyeball the demon with the flithiest glare she could muster, satisfied when his eyes widened minutely before he regained his usual blank expression. 

The two of them stared at one another for several minutes, waiting for the other to break the tension first. During that time, Kagome could feel herself getting angrier and angrier until she couldn't take it anymore.

"I think you have something that you want to say to Rin." She was rather proud of how sharp her clipped words were.

One of his perfectly formed eyebrows rose, and his reply was mocking in the extreme.

"And what would that be, miko?"

Kagome clenched her fists, eyes closing momentarily. Kami, Sesshoumaru could be such a jerk! Now she was the one having trouble managing her anger! Breathing in deeply through her nostrils, the woman spoke slowly and clearly, ensuring that he could hear every word of what she had to say.

"It is a simple word, used to apologise- the word sorry. You need to grow the balls to say that, because there is a kind little girl sitting by the campfire who looks like she is about to cry her eyes out. Now if you don't think you can do that, I will be happy to kick your butt into gear- or I could spank you if you prefer, you asshole."

Sesshoumaru's other eyebrow had risen during her speech to join its twin and his incredulous expression would have been priceless had it been someone else to cause it. Now, after she realised what had just erupted from her ginormous mouth, Kagome's mind was back-pedalling furiously.

'Ah, he's gonna kill me, I'm going to die; I really should've just kept my mouth shut, but nope, I couldn't even manage that!'

The inuyoukai continued to stare at her and the time traveller wondered how he was going to end her life. Claws seemed likely- he wouldn't bother to use one of his precious swords on her lowly human body...

Abruptly, the Western Lord smirked, and completely ignoring the terrified woman, he stood and walked over to his ward before he apologised in what appeared to be a sincere manner- and he even ruffled her hair, leaving the girl beaming like she had just been given her dreams. He then continued walking into the forest, giving no other sign that he would act on her words.

Shocked, Kagome just blinked as Rin ran into her midriff, spouting thanks and joyful laughter. 

She wasn't sure what had just happened, but it looked like their primary objective- helping Sesshoumaru control his anger management problem- was actually attainable.
