Kagome knew that her actions could be interpreted as being incredibly cowardly, but she didn't care. If doing it like this meant that she wasn't decapitated, she would choose this method every time.

Her idea was very simple. Rather than approaching the stoic demon herself- with the probabilty of being murdered increasing significantly after every failed attempt- Rin would be the one to instigate a conversation with the inuyoukai and she would join in after a few minutes of calm speech.

As the small girl skipped towards her surrogate father, the miko crossed her fingers on both hands (and even crossed her toes as well as she could with them being inside her shoes), hoping against hope that the child would have more success than she had had up until this point.

With a miniature fist pump of victory, Kagome smiled as Rin started to talk to the Western Lord. He didn't seem to be saying more than a few words each time, but he was looking directly at the girl and clearly paying attention to her words. The young woman was happy to know that her idea had been a good one- of course Rin would be successful- she was practically Sesshoumaru's only weakness.

But as she stood to wander over and join in, the daiyoukai looked directly at her with a glare so horrifyingly blank that Kagome was sure he had looked right through her. Her knees wobbled and she quickly turned back to her sleeping bag, diving into it with a stifled squeak. He looked like a serial killer from a horror movie! Why did she ever think that it would be a good idea to try and approach him?!

A poke to her shoulder had her screaming like a banshee, only to have a petite hand clap over her mouth. Rin's warm brown eyes met her terrified blue ones and she breathed a heavy sigh of relief. It wasn't her death.

"Sesshoumaru-sama is not impressed with us Kagome-sama... He was really dismissive of our efforts. He said we should stop distracting him." The little child looked unusually melancholy as she related the demon's words.

Kagome's eyes grew narrower and narrower as the sweet and innocent girl grew even more upset with every word that passed through her lips. So Sesshoumaru thought that they were being stupid did he? Well, she would show him how stupid he was, the bastard! Whoever made Rin's eyes swim with unshed tears deserved to have her foot up their arse!

Anger in every line of her body, the time traveller slowly stood and turned towards the inu with rage in her eyes.
