Kagome looked at him where he was standing, there were many candles lit all around the cabin and the soft light that they were throwing illuminated his face and highlighted the high cheekbones and made his silver hair seem to glow ethereally. Kagome took a deep breath as she tried to calm herself. He looked intoxicating and it made her wonder exactly why he had brought her here.

“I was surprised when you asked me to meet you out here.” Kagome finally found her voice as she walked over and traced her finger along the mantle. She attempted to compose herself, she shouldn't be feeling this way in his presence, she was supposedly with Bankotsu.

“Really?” Sesshomaru said as he walked around the room purposely, he knew that she wanted him and enjoyed her presence, the smell of temptation mixed with guilt. “It is no small wonder that you would be called here. You are the one who delivered me from the feudal era as it was.” Sesshomaru said as finally walked closer to her.

“I shouldn't be here.” She whispered as she walked over to the window, looking at the winter landscape outside, it had started to snow again already.

“Why not?”

“You know why.” She said as she turned to look at him with those soul piercing blue orbs.

“Because of him.”

“Everyone will talk, including him.” She said with a sigh, he had moved closer once again. “I really can't stay.”
