After an hour of fancy driving, Kagome was able to lose their trackers. The Charger slowed down to a cruising speed, the road it traveled on was completely vacant. Wanting to fill the silence with noise she pushed the button in for the radio.

Shippo paused with his tinkering and sighed. “You know? A little Christmas music wouldn’t hurt. It might just help you get in the spirit.”

“Or make me drive off road in a fit of rage.”

“C’mon Kagome, you promised. Pleeeease?”

She refused to make eye contact knowing full well it would be her undoing. “Honestly, kid. It’s just another random day of the year.”

“It’s not just any day, it’s THE day. It’s Christmas! And need I remind you once again that you promised me earlier this year?”

“Give it rest already will you?”

“No, because you promised.”

“If I say yes, will you stop saying that?”

Shippo rammed her with a hug. “Oh! Thank you-Thank you-Thank you! You won’t regret this!”

“Too late.”

He bounced back in his seat happily. “Man, this is gonna be sweet! Our first real Christmas together…so, what should we do first?”

“Well, you just aided the escape of a wanted criminal.”

“But you were framed!”

“It doesn’t matter. Relocation’s our top priority. But most importantly, did you do your thing?”

“Of course! Kagome Higurashi no longer exists in the system…once again. And I think I might have an idea of where we can go.”

“As long as it's not freezing, I don't care.”
