A pair of fluffy mittens gripped the wall for support. Wobbly knees buckled down. She willed one foot forward until the other started sliding away. Chocolate irises narrowed when the current bane of her existence appeared.

Sesshomaru slowly slid past her backwards. Beguilement danced in his golden eyes. Black skates skidded to a halt. “You know the wall can only take you so far.”

“Shut up! I’m tryna concentrate!” Kagome tried pulling her legs together. She had almost achieved her goal when her feet flew apart and she hit the ground. A light chuckle reached her ears.

“Here,” he held his hand out.

“Fine, if you insist.” She grabbed it and pulled hard. His body toppled forward but he caught his balance. In one swift move he hauled her up. Kagome furrowed her brows and snickered, “You’re a lot stronger than I thought.”

“And I could say the same for you.” He pulled her from the edge.

“H-hey! W-wait a minute! What do you think you’re doing?”

“Teaching you how to skate.” Before she could complain he swept them across the icy floor. They circled the rink five times. Sesshomaru then slowed down until Kagome found her pace.  He looked down at her amused as she kept close watch of her feet. “Think you’ve got the hang of it?”

“I think…”

He let her go.

“Wait! I’m not ready!” Kagome sailed a couple of feet alone. The lack of contact registered and threw off her balance. She flailed in a wayward path; the other skaters dodged her left and right. A little kid fell in front of her. “Nooo!” She dove to the side.

Shippo was knocked right out of the ice rink. Something soft pressed against his lips. Emerald widened with shock. Oh my God! I kissed Rin!

Pink cheeks, she continued to stare.

Neither one of them said a word.
